I don't really understand what your saying All I said was I will remember him for his work in Samurai Champloo because that's one of my favorite animes. Also that he was talented and I love his work. I didn't say hes the only one in japan "who does Hip-Hop" or that hes the best beat maker.

Anyway, CNN Thug poetry, just put it on my Mp3, love that instrumental.

I enjoyed that tape more than I thought I would.

Yeah, I thought it was decent. The one track right now that I keep playing over and over is "Kemosabe" lol. The hook is too catchy.

I like "Kemosabe" but "G.D.O.D." and "Here I Go" are my favorites.

On another note, I listened to two quality releases this week, Kismet by Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire and The REcstatic by DJ Preservation. Exquire was far more serious and introspective than I've ever heard him and it made the project very cohesive.

I'm always on the lookout for new material from the artist formerly known as Mos Def and REcstatic didn't disappoint. Preservation flipped the original tracks beautifully and "Black Fantastic"(a version of "Casa Bey" produced by Minnesota) was a great way to end the album.

Looking forward to Summer Knights from Joey Bada$$ next month.

Just finished listening to Kanye West's Yeezus. I really didn't have any expectations for it, so I was really surprised. I appreciate the different sounds that some of the songs had.

Really enjoyed E.S.G.N. from Freddie Gibbs. Truth be told, he's had better projects but he's still one of the most authentic rappers in the game.

Glad to see he's got another project with Madlib coming soon.

I don't believe so, I don't remember him being a part of any other crew aside from Demigodz.

Hmmmm, It's so hard to tell, Army of the Pharaohs has had so many people join and leave. I think I am wrong though as I don't recognize his voice just his face from a AoTP video.

Any Stalley fans here? Listened to two tracks ("A-Wax" and "Raise Your Weapons") from his upcoming tape yesterday and I've become a fan. The latter track is a banger.

Also good to hear new music from Childish Gambino with "Centipede". Hope he drops a project later this year.

Kendrick comes through with the verse of the year on Big Sean's "Control".

We should give where it's due.

I didn't think there were any Stelley fans in the world I sort of figured everyone else just listened to him when he had verses on other MMG songs.

Kendrick does destroy in Control tho. I'm really excited to see what kind of responses he gets (because the last time the west tried to conquer the east new york came out swinging)

I'll admit to never really giving him a shot primarily because he was in MMG. Foolish move on my part, especially since I was into Wale before he signed with the label.

This page has some of the more notable responses so far. Ortiz's was solid. Lupe's was okay but I would have liked to hear him rap over the original instrumental.

I wrote a long thing on it but I accidentally deleted it, but suffice it to say: Joell Ortiz hands down does the best. Lupe does better than he's done in a while but he's talking way more trash than he can act on. B.o.B. releases maybe his best song in years. Los' compliments to everyone were cool. Factz holds down the Bronx absolutely. Everyone else ranges from mediocre to worthless.

I think Lupe's response goes over tons of heads.

Lyrically, Lupe is capable of much much more, but people fail to see that Lupe is imitating the exact styles that he is responding to in SLR2. Making a mockery and in a way doing it better than the original, kind of a "I can beat you at your own game with your own rules"

Honorable mentions go to Joell Ortiz and JR Writer's responses.

Oddly enough, none of the names that Lamar called out have responded yet.

Breakdown of Lupe's SLR 2 in case anybody is wondering:

1:05-1:12 mocking B.O.B. style

1:13-1:27 mocking T.I. style

1:27-1:45 mocking Kanye style

1:45-1:57 mocking Jay-Z style

1:57-2:20 mocking Drake style

2:20-2:40 mocking 2 Chainz style

2:40-2:55 mocking Lil Wayne style

Gotta love these freestyles a lot of passion from Pro Era and ASAP Mob.

Worth a listen if you have time, ASAP mob one is great, lots of good beats.
