I don't really understand what your saying All I said was I will remember him for his work in Samurai Champloo because that's one of my favorite animes. Also that he was talented and I love his work. I didn't say hes the only one in japan "who does Hip-Hop" or that hes the best beat maker.
Anyway, CNN Thug poetry, just put it on my Mp3, love that instrumental.

On another note, I listened to two quality releases this week, Kismet by Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire and The REcstatic by DJ Preservation. Exquire was far more serious and introspective than I've ever heard him and it made the project very cohesive. I'm always on the lookout for new material from the artist formerly known as Mos Def and REcstatic didn't disappoint. Preservation flipped the original tracks beautifully and "Black Fantastic"(a version of "Casa Bey" produced by Minnesota) was a great way to end the album. Looking forward to Summer Knights from Joey Bada$$ next month.

Really enjoyed E.S.G.N. from Freddie Gibbs. Truth be told, he's had better projects but he's still one of the most authentic rappers in the game.
Glad to see he's got another project with Madlib coming soon.

Any Stalley fans here? Listened to two tracks ("A-Wax" and "Raise Your Weapons") from his upcoming tape yesterday and I've become a fan. The latter track is a banger.
Also good to hear new music from Childish Gambino with "Centipede". Hope he drops a project later this year.

All praise be to Based God. Quote:
This page has some of the more notable responses so far. Ortiz's was solid. Lupe's was okay but I would have liked to hear him rap over the original instrumental.

I think Lupe's response goes over tons of heads.
Lyrically, Lupe is capable of much much more, but people fail to see that Lupe is imitating the exact styles that he is responding to in SLR2. Making a mockery and in a way doing it better than the original, kind of a "I can beat you at your own game with your own rules" Honorable mentions go to Joell Ortiz and JR Writer's responses. Oddly enough, none of the names that Lamar called out have responded yet.
