I just have to point something out which was bothering me through out episode 13.. there is something happening with the valvrave pilots if you guys notice they were starting to itch themselves when haruto was out of ruins .... isn't that an indication to something happening to their bodies as well?

Hmm, I never noticed that, but yeah they do. You notice it first on Kyuma, then Raizou, and a little with Akira. It's possible that they were beginning to feel the hunger too since Haruto wasn't fulfilling his obligation.

It kind of how your body has a main way of extracting its nutrients and energy, however, if the body is in a starved state, the body has several backup sources to use to keep itself going. The body is built for survival, and in the same way the Valvraves will probably do whatever's necessary to get those runes. If Pino can't extract them from Haruto, she will go to the auxiliary pilots.

Now, Dr. Takumi was just guessing, but he too posed that the other pilots would feel the drive to feed on rune sources as well.

It would make sense. Just the fact that Haruto wants to bear the burden of the curse all by himself probably means that won't end up being the case. Also I think the interface Takumi brought up in ep. 10 could be linked to this. It said "Person Control System" and showed four subjects (there were four pilots by this point).

Initially I only noticed Kyuuma doing the scratching so good catch (though I can't seem to figure out when Raizo does it). Will do a proper rewatch later.

Yeah the first declaration such as "bearing the curse alone" usually doesn't last. It should be part of Haruto's development.

I have to re-watch too because I never noticed it. I thought it was strange that only the valvraves were affected and not the other four pilots.

well..

Right now he is presently in the "I will destroy Valvraves once all of this is over and I will find a way to become a human again" mindset

I'm not sure if they reworded the lines, but compare it to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSIjac6mv0s

"I no longer want to cry"
"We have no longer choice but to fight"
"This curse.. this hope.. are things are are necessary to us"

These lines haven't made an appearance yet.

If I were to guess this is from a later episode where Haruto once again softens his stance on being a pilot. (after learning that returning to being human is no longer possible?)

The official subtitles from AniplexUSA are:

>I don't want to see anymore tears.
>There's nothing left to do but to fight.
>After all, these curses and hopes are powers necessary to us.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYMa-OflQ0M

I'm glad you said something like that. I also thought at one time that monologue sounded different from the Haruto we've come to know.

The context does seem different, doesn't it?

It seems like a resolution he acquired after another setback.
(not being able to return being human, maybe?)
I think Haruto is gradually changing his stance towards being a Kamitsuki

Also, remember the prevalence of Valvrave symbols in Saki's country in the future.
It does not seem like a country who holds contempt for Valvraves

I think Haruto L-Elf and could end up sealed in the valvrave. The special interest of Cain by L-11 may be related to their runes

I think I figured out Future!Saki's promise.
It's the promise to live on after Haruto's death.

In episode 13, Haruto thinks of her (and Shoko) when he is about to be killed by L-11 yet in episode 9 he is fine with her being the one who mercy-kills him for good.
In the first flash-forward, she mentions the promise after killing someone who was almost able to kill her (Carmilla was close to overheating).
It's notable she did not show any fear but calmly commented her situation despite being so close to defeat and death.

Haruto is aware that Saki is reckless and would be hurt by his death (maybe too hurt) and does not want her to die because of him.
Therefore, he let her promise to live on (after his eventual death by her hand).

Future episodes might prove me wrong, but based on what we currently know, it makes the most sense.

plausible

but she's not the kind of person who would agree to that without getting something in return

Eh, if there's no choice but to kill Haruto than I think Saki would rather be the one to do it over any other as they share a special connection and she accepted his dark side willingly because she knows of the curse more than anyone else on the team.

Yeah, that seems pretty likely.

So what exactly is gonna happen to Kyuma, Raizo, and Akira in the Time-Skip then?

The full version is out on the web if you know where to look for it. I love it! My favorite of the EDs thus far.

I was referring to the lyrics of the song, it sounds like a lament or farewell.

Realism - It gives off a farewell/regret vibe. Its a song that looks forward to the future, therefore giving off a strong futuristic vibe.

It is indeed a good song. Kind of reminds me of the Blazblue series a bit.

Someone asked for a translation of the scan in this post and then a friendly anon asked me if I could do it, so here it is~ Kind of late as we’re two episodes into s2 already, but still some… details.

"Does the secret of ‘Valvrave’ lie with a new heaven and earth?"

Shouldn’t they find a countermeasure for those ‘attacks’?

The Runes are used up, and then Haruto will have an episode. And now one of the victims sacrificed to this was Saki. This is of grave concern to Haruto as well; "he offered himself up for human experimentation in order to know more about his own body." But, with being so deliberately careful, he won’t be able to participate in battle when the time comes; no doubt L-elf has thought of that. Surely there will be a secret plan in store for it!? We’ll see!

Don’t the new uniforms kind of resemble Lieselotte’s style? Was it L-elf’s design?

There were new key visuals which had the new uniforms. Don’t the wide sleeves and other things like that kind of look like Lieselotte’s style!? "No, they don’t. Dorssia is unrelated to this." …And L-elf’s alone is different, too! "Indeed. Because he does not want to be associated with others. Don’t try to find any mysteries or drama to these uniforms, there are none." …What, really!?

Could there be a ‘next’ again after Akira?

In episode 12, it was Akira too! Can just anyone pilot them, just how many Valvraves are there? "The five units in Sakimori Academy, and the Unit Two that Cain used. Of what has been introduced so far, that’s everything."
In that case, no one else has to resign being human, right!? "…So long as the previous pilots don’t die." …No no, that’s impossible, right!!

The journey from here on is a Future Trip!
Onward to a new field, another operation start!
(Iketani Hiroomi, producer)
Episode 13 is an exact immediate continuation of season one’s episode 12. So far, Haruto and the others have been forced constantly on the defensive, but now as they face a new reality and have new reasons, they will be taking action by their own will. Another ‘operation’ begins, which is headed for a change of fields, so please stay tuned.

Liselotte's first appearance as a talking grown-up, I can feel it. The next eps are going to be more suspense and exciting now that H Neun and Kriem are somehow in collusion. That's expected since they're in Dorussia, in The Land of Blood and Honey. Oh that dere side of L Elf

Any thoughts on episode 3/15? I can't believe that no one is actively talking about this.

By the title alone, "Return to Karlstein," its most likely an L-Elf episode. So does he get some of his past revealed? Or does he get some character development?
