There's something I'm wondering about. Why is it that almost every faction (Hei and his CIA, August 7, the Russian army) thought Suou was actually her brother, Shion, but the earth golem guy (and I guess his ally the ninja girl) was the only one that knew she was a girl, even though his group also was apparently after Shion?

Even April, who had spent considerable time with Suou as Bella, couldn't distinguish her from her brother at first. So how did that one guy know? And if he did know, why did he and his group try to take the girl into custody, unlike all the other groups, who are all looking for her brother Shion and don't care at all about Suou (and would have even killed her if they found out that they had the wrong person, as Hei told her)?

Could it be shown later in the plot, or is it just a plot hole?

Since I don't speak japanese I can't be sure. But maybe what happened was that he was using a non gender specific pronoun to describe Suou. When being translated, maybe they just went with her since English only has he/her and no it for a person.

Probably to remove Hei as a threat. I mean, he is one of the most, if not most dangerous Contractor in the world right now. So whatever that machine trap thing was probably to remove Hei as a threat to whatever their goal is.

Still, even if he did lose his powers, as previously stated over and over again, Hei can still kick ass.

Ah, I can't get enough of Suou though, the more I watch this 2nd season the more I think she'll make an awesome partner for Hei. Yin and Hei might "work" better but Suou will definitely create more drama around =D

I don't mind Suou either, I think she'll be a good character and Darker Than Black's been very enjoyable, it's great. It's just that I'm a blind fanboy for Yin.

it seems a bit useless, though. So she can make wood extremely hard and sharp--so what? She'd be nearly as dangerous with a simple steel sword. Much of her deadliness comes from her physical prowess, which isn't tied to her contract. She's kind of like Hei in that aspect. Her main advantage would be that any scrap of wood lying around is a cutting tool for her.

Yea, I am not sure why didn't catch it. Hei clearly called her Shion like twice....

Hopefully we get more moments when Hei doesn't treat Suou like a girl LOL.

I think Yin being eliminated serves the plot better. Now, don't flame me yin shippers as I did like Yin as well, but she was never going to a suitable match up beyond any fan fiction in her emotionless state.

How old is Hei anyways? I forgot, if he played the role of a college student in season 1, he must be in his early 20's at the oldest? But there was a time skip as well.... Anyhow, I don't think Suou is going to be a suitable love interest due the age gap either. Then again Misaki is like 10 years older than Hei. So who knows?

This series isn't about love though!

Getting back to my original point, Hei having to protect two girls would be too tough. So one of them had to peace out unfortunately.

On a side note, I am falling more and more in love with this DTB OP. Season 1's OPs were a little too J-poppy for me.

Yin gets more and more familiar with Hei as times passes on, though. By the end of season one she wasn't just a mindless husk anymore, and in the manga, she clearly cares for him.

Spoiler for Slight spoilers about the manga:

I don't think this is a huge spoiler or anything, since it's not a plot detail and the manga is a prequel to season two--but still, I'll be careful about it. They do sleep in the same bed, and Hei is very affectionate to her. Not as in being lovers, but rather, he's come to see her as friend, and perhaps, even as a stand-in for his lost sister.

Hei is 24, I think. And no, Suou definitely can't be a love interest. A young girl falling in love with a drunken Chinese hobo is more creepy than anything else.

I'll wait and see. The website states that anything she can get her hands on can be used as a blade-like weapon...

Is she really 13? That type of fanservice isn't normally done for a 13 yo in an anime title from what I've seen. Plus, she not acting like a 13 yo but more maturer.

@JackRydden224: The age difference was prob greater in The Professional. A Kite also had similar issues. Kite Liberator also did it. A huge precedence exists for this.

Alright I admit it that age is probably going to be an issue here (unless Suou goes anti-Amber and grow up quickly), it's just that I have a thing for people who are suppose to be together getting together

Realistically Suou will get Hei out of his current situation right now, make him like live more and such and such.

Yep she's 13 years old. That's why some people thought DtB s2 will be wierd and won't be any good since we have a kid as a main character.
But introducing a 13-year old gild in the world of DtB is bound to be interesting and since she's really young it's without a doubd that she'll bring more drama to the series. We practically see her world being destroyed again in an instant, and this time completely.

She's indeed quite mature for a 13 year old. She has a strong resolve to preotect her brtoher and that's what's keeps her going I guess. Still you can see the childish side of her at times. But many girls in anime are way more mature for their acutal age.
Guess she'll lose that one as well once she starts shooting with that anti tank rifle.

And I also don't see how she'll fall for some drunk hobo like Hei .
I mean the'll make him a drunk pedo hobo that kills people inbetween drinks
