I did think this was part of the new Kiss in the Galaxy series...but isn't the scans from Newtype Ace? From what I recall the KitG manga was published in some shoujo mag or perhaps they swtched..?

Yeah, but thats... work, man... work! You people should know by now just how lazy I am. You know how long it took me to post an answer over at the Q&A last night? I need a break, I tell ya!

Anyway, the 3rd panel might describe the meeting between Grace and the other AIs (as indicated by the bottom text) discussing how they would use Ranka to replace Sheryl as the you-know-what, leading to discarding Sheryl from the project... etc.

From my understanding, this manga is called Macross FF (Fortissimo) which runs in NewType ACE. It's drawn by the artist Megane Kikuya and supervised by Kawamori, and serves as a bridge between the two movies. It's not as romance-centric as Kiss in the Galaxy, however, the moments themselves are powerful enough, as evidenced from the pictures posted.

In the meantime... those pictures. Those pictures! If a kind soul could translate them, it would be much appreciated.
