Nope, I thought so too but it wasn't. I also found an old series called Maze that seemed to fit, but it wasn't right either. Both are more comedic/adventury. The one I'm thinking of was more dramatic/tragic.

That seems to be the character Oshino Shinobu from the anime series Bakemonogatari. I haven't seen the series, myself, but apparently it was popular enough to get a sequel (the currently-airing Nisemonogatari).

oh actually i've seen that anime but I didn't recognize it in the gif. Hmmm that's so weird.
I dropped after 2 eps because I can tell that the rest of the eps will be like the 2eps which I didn't find that interesting so there's probably no point. The fanesrvice turned me off, the shaft shit was too much, and i didn't like either of the characters and I did not like the voice actors that they chose for the characters. Well maybe I'll go watch a clip to see what kinda character she is... since you said she's popular

Well thanks for satisfying my curiosity nonetheless.

I don't know if it is in the manga, but I would guess that it is.
