Yes and no. Suyun had talent indeed, but since his illness stole five years of cultivation time, he starts off at pretty much the bottom, but he will be able to catch up with the use of magical pills and medicine (he dabbled in alchemy in his previous life). He can also create demon pills and rituals, which basically increases his physical ability and resilience temporarily and grants him incredible abilities that normal people just can't have, at a cost. In the item department, he would acquire a lot of priceless and incredible tools and weapons (thanks to his knowledge of the future) that each helps him grow stronger in their own way. One of these leads to his signature skill "flying swords" and a spiritual adviser (like eggy or jasmine) who basically teach him how to become a complete badass swordsman. This is his most priceless treasure, and ironically, one he found by complete accident.

Still, Suyun's cultivation is still too low. Compared to other genius or prodigies whose development was never stalled or had richer families/sects to support them, he's way behind. He can still beat them effortlessly because of his unique cultivation method and superior technique, but without his treasures/demon pills, Suyun is completely helpless against the real heavy hitters behind them, the elders and guardians of the major sects/family. In fact, without preparation, Suyun could easily die to one blow from an elder, which almost happen later on with tragic results. But, when Suyun is well-prepared and armed, he is a complete force to be reckoned with.

Basically, Suyun relies on demon pills and demon rituals to booster his body's capability and avoid getting one-shot in battle, while he need his treasures and tools for the offensive.

I don't doubt that the MC will become overwhelmingly powerful later on, but by chapter 200, there are still a lot of people who can kill him and a couple of them came REALLY close.

Keep in mind, he is constantly making pills or rituals to quicken up his cultivation and for fighting purposes. Not sure if this drops off later or not, but if you're into this sort of thing, you'll probably love the first 200 chapters or so.

Yes. I mean, where I am, it's not official yet, but he keep raising one flag after another with a lot of female characters. It gets pretty obvious that all those relationships is going to shape into a harem sooner or later. Ironically, despite my enjoyment of this genre, I kind of wish this wasn't since Qing Er is the best girl ever. Hands down.

If I'm wrong about this, I'll be very surprised.

The story is written very well, with a lot of funny moments where I just laugh and shake my finger at his antics. I like Suyun's personality and stubborn nature a lot. His dialogue has just the right amount of a wit and bite to be endearing. Plus, he isn't afraid of making enemies and almost always to step up and talk back to his family's own elders when matters concern him or his loved ones. His relationship and interactions with Qing Er are the highlight of the story for me, but he doesn't have much time before Qing Er is taken away to her fate and he knows it, so he does everything he must to become stronger as fast as possible. Although I don't agree with a couple of things, I respect his ambition and determination.

Also, the fight scenes are absolutely awesome. As I said, Suyun is pretty weak compared to most of the people he fights later on, so he has to rely on his creativity to even out the playing field. And a boy with the ability to control hundreds of flying swords, the ownership of several powerful artifacts and tools, and access to a bunch of demonic pills and rituals can get very creative..

Look about that you can forgive him because he will have sex again with her consesual this time and take responsability besides he need power to save the people he care about.

It's a shame but rape power ups happend in so many stories and she did try to steal and kill him before so we can kinda give him a free pass.

One of these people is Hu Qian Mei(?), a half-bred demon (essentially a fox girl) who tracked him to the Su family and stalked him for ten days. She hasn't appeared in the translated chapters yet, but her martial sister, the Long Zhang Lao, has.

This fox girl only cares about the treasure she wants from Suyun and was likely to kill him even if he gave it up cause she may not want people to know she took it from him. Before this, Suyun personally witnessed her ruthlessness when she proudly admits to killing people just for talking to her funny or an entire family for their treasure. Then he watched her effortlessly kill a couple of warriors who came for revenge and who were all more skilled than him.

Suyun used his wits to lure her into a trap and she ended up completely at his mercy. He originally planned to just kill her, but after his spiritual mentor stopped him and told him about what her body can do for him, he hesitate for a while then did the deed with her. This act enhanced both of their talents, but more Suyun than Hu Qian Mei (if at all).

After this, they are connected. If Suyun dies, Hu Qian Mei will lose her powers and would have to start her cultivation all over and vice versa. Also can't take his treasures cause he would just threaten to harm himself. Plus, he is really weak so he need those treasures to protect his life. Suyun has had two spiritual advisers so far. One is the spirit of a dead old man. The second one is a female sword spirit that he conquered (became master of) by accident. Not sure if it's actually these two, but both had to be around Suyun most of the time, so...

Hu Qian Mei and Suyun does meets again later on and she saved his life twice. It's not that she likes him, she just couldn't afford to let him die yet. There isn't a repeat of the incident, but she was about to beat him up with her fist until they were interrupted.

Spoiler for Spirit Girl:

The spirit girl have always been a part of his arsenal, it's just that she never appears until much later. When she first showed up, she had no recollection of anything and allowed Suyun to touch her. This is the only requirement (every sword have their own) he needed to do to conquer her. Afterward, she becomes a completely different person and is very pissed. She has a human body and vows that in ten years, her time will be up and her powers will unlock. Then she will leave him. For the time being, she will act as his sword/companion. She is hinted to be extremely powerful when she had a real body and when her cultivation wasn't sealed.

Spoiler for Stalker Elder:

Long Xianli (I think that's her name) makes another trip (her first visit happened after the translation's current arc) to Su family after Suyun's second identity became really famous. She became convinced that he is Sword God (?) after she finds him alive and threatened to kill him. Suyun abuse the fact that she doesn't have any proof to protect his life. Then he balantly lies and pretends that the reason why his cultivation grew so fast is because he is a master alchemist and he can make a lot of powerful pills. She is only half-convinced until he shows off his alchemy skills. Then, Suyun learned that she was poisoned and plays doctor for a while. Their interactions after that are really funny. Suyun flirts with her and tease her, she gets mad and nearly kills him. She even lets him see the injury where the poison entered her body (to better understand what it is), which happened to be around the bosom area.

After Suyun had her completely fooled, she leaves to return to her sect, but she makes an offer to recruit him (and Qing Er) because of his skills. He rejected her offer because he knows that the Su Family will refuse to let Qing Er go. Long Xianli then gives him a manual as apology for almost killing him and left behind a lot of expensive ingredients that she brought to create an antidote(?). These ingredients are exactly what he needs to complete a ritual that allows him to hunt for the next treasure and leads to (in my opinion) one of the best fights in the story so far. So yeah, Suyun wins big here and they became sorta friends.

If you read all three spoilers, you can see what I meant when I said it's very apparent that there will be a harem. Though Qing Er is the nearest to his heart, the flags just keeps piling up.
