Oh, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. o3o

Though I did have a lot of fun turning a few KH girls into mages. And making one particular subplot a homage to the first season of Nanoha. I call it the White Mage arc, because of the main color in the Dark Magical Girl's outfit.

I admit I pulled this one. Though it was only a short one-shot, and it was posted before the crossovers section was made into its own section for fanfiction. I have to check, actually, I've always wondered if that short I wrote got carried over...

'M-Material... D? What type of name is that? That name sounds...' Pieces started falling together in Yuuno's head. His silence was noticed by Material-D, who merely smiled in pride at how she had managed to strike a sense of awe in front of this peasant.

"Ara... it seems that you have been entranced by my majestic name? Of course, you are free to call me 'Your Majesty'."

He blinked in surprise, causing his thinking process to be halted for a moment. "Huh? No, I... er..." As he stammered, he noticed her previously proud smile slipping, a surefire sign that she was starting to get annoyed. This was getting bad.

Fortunately for him, it seemed that her focus was elsewhere. She wasn't even looking at him anymore but rather in the direction of battle. "...... just what are you doing, Material-S?!" Without wasting a moment, she got into position, turning her back to Yuuno. Her Tome opened and flipped to a certain page before glowing and resonating with Material-D, causing a Belkan Triangle to appear in front of her. The funny part was that there was a secondary crest overlapping with the triangle, bearing a strong resemblance to a rose entrapped within a circle.

Yuuno didn't really pay close detail to the circle as his concentration was elsewhere. Particularly, the most logical explanation regarding Material-D and the Fate lookalike. 'There's no mistaking it... someone else had run their own version of Project F. Obviously not perfect since there are glaring differences in their physical appearances. And their memories aren't even transferred...... perhaps renegade clones?'

"And here we... go!" The Triangle symbol began spinning rapidly as the rose crest glowed. The end result was a gigantic vacuum effect which forced Yuuno to keep his levitation stable.

'So far, I've seen replicas of Hayate and Fate. Does this mean that there's...?'

It didn't take long for him to get his answer as the vacuum spell worked its magic and sucked out another female individual, who had been caught in a bind spell, from the fight ahead that was still obscured by the thick clouds. As soon as Material-D cancelled the spell, the young woman took control of her speed and took a few moments to break free of the binds. "My thanks, Material-D."

"...... Nanoha..." She was just as beautiful as the real one although her brown hair wasn't as long. In fact, it only just stretched just past her shoulders. Her blue eyes also carried the same 'off' look as the eyes he had seen on the Hayate and Fate replicas. In her grip was her trusty device, shaped like Raising Heart but coloured differently as a red staff with a blue gem.

"How many times have I told you to call me 'Your Majesty'?!" huffed Material-D as she glared at the other woman, dressed in a black and crimson barrier jacket designed similarly to the old white and blue barrier jacket Nanoha wore in the past. "And how did you get caught so easily in a bind spell?!"

"... it was my error. An error I will not repeat against this enemy again." Material-S then noticed the third member of the party just hovering there. "Who is he?"

"Just a peasant... although he seems to know you," noted the Hayate replica upon seeing the look in Yuuno's eyes. "Are you two acquainted?"

There was a slow pause before the Nanoha replica replied. "No."

Honestly, he was prepared for her to say it since obviously, she wouldn't share any memories with the original Nanoha. But to hear her declare that she doesn't know him at all in such a cold tone, it did sting at his heart little bit.

"...... but..."

Both Material-D and Yuuno blinked in surprise at the sudden change in their companion's voice.

"...... for some reason, I have this feeling. That I can trust this man with my back... correction..." She looked directly into his green eyes. "... I can trust him with my life."

"...... that's it. Once we get out of this mess, I'm going to double check if this guy's enchanted you-" Material-D was cut off as a lightning bolt zipped past them and circled around just in time for it to change to the Fate lookalike and glomp Material-S while bawling like a baby.

"Seikou-chan!! Yami-chan!! Why did you two leave me alone like that?! It's no fun playing by myself!!"

"You stupid Material-L!" snapped Material-D. "If you're here, then they can use the time to-"

She couldn't get out anything else as a melodic female tone interrupted her. "Oh, we wouldn't dream of going through the Reaction process yet! Not until we get to know each other a little better!"

'Reaction?!' Right now, every instinct of Yuuno was on high alert as another young woman emerged from the clouds, dressed in a long black garment which covered her entire body except for her arms and most of her legs. Her long dark hair was tied in a single ponytail. A pair of long black gloves covered her hands and most of her lower arms except for her shoulders, with the left one bearing a distinct indigo blue wing tattoo. Underneath her right arm was a book, most likely her device.

The Hayate replica snarled at the other woman who just came out. "You..."

"After all... we didn't expect to find such interesting creatures when we went on our little slaughterfest earlier!" exclaimed the woman with a happy smile. "Isn't that right... partner?"

A beat...

... a click of a rifle...

... and two words.

"Divide Zero."

Speaking of crossovers, I should finish work on that crackfic Gundam 00 genderbender crossover, where the main (male) Gundam Meisters are replaced by the female Aces, and the (largely female) Bridge Bunny crew of Ptolemaios is replaced with male characters from MGLN.

It's not a direct replacement, because the roles are changed up a bit, and the mobile suits are different (though still somewht based on the Exia, Virtue, Kyrios and Dynames).

Hayate Yagami is the main character, taking Setsuna's role, piloting the Reinforce Gundam (extreme wide-area bombardment type, taking Virtue's role).

Nanoha Takamachi takes up Lockon Stratos's role, piloting the Starlight Gundam (mid- to long-range shooting type, taking Dynames' role).

Signum takes up Alleluja Haptism's role, piloting the Laevatinn Gundam (close-combat type armed with GN Blades, taking Exia's role).

Fate T. Harlaown takes up Tieria Erde's role, piloting the Bardiche Gundam (transforming fighter type, very fast, taking Kyrios' role).

Oh yeah, and Chrono takes Sumeragi Lee Noriega's role as the tactical planner.

I actually have part of the first chapter finished on this, but I got distracted by other things (Altered Course was one of them, then real-life issues) before I was able to really get into it. I think I may go back to it once false light and Altered Course are both finished.

I wouldn't say it's largely female. Three (Sumeragi, Feldt, Christina) vs two (Lasse and Lichty) isn't that big a difference. If you also include Ian and Dr Moreno, there's more guys on the Ptolemy than girls

Hm, Dr Moreno would definitely be Shamal, while Ian would be either Mariel or Shari.

You make me feel old (relatively speaking, anyway, as there are 2004-ers who are still active) and much less useful.

“Sometimes I wonder how things would have turned out if you had never met me.”

Yuuno looked across the table, a piece of chili crab halfway to his mouth, and blinked. “That’s… abrupt, Rein. Why do you say… phrase it as ‘you had never met me’? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”

Reinforce played with her fingers, offhandedly rubbing at her wedding ring. “I’m inconsequential.”

There was no trace of irony or sarcasm in her voice, something that made Yuuno stiffen and slowly put the piece of crab back on its plate. He involuntarily looked down at his own matching band, then back into his wife’s beautiful ruby eyes, sighing as he did so. “I thought we had this worked out with the counsellors by now, dear.”

“Centuries of self-loathing don’t disappear into thin air in just a few years.”

“T-that’s not a good attitude to have,” Yuuno uttered lamely. “Now, please eat.” He scooped up a spoonful of fresh scallop and eased it into Reinforce’s mouth. “We’re not here to mope about the past. We’re here…”

Reinforce stared at her husband, half expecting him to whip out a pair of sunglasses any second now. Any second…

“For our honeymoon.”

Reinforce broke down laughing.

“What?” Yuuno asked, confused. “What did I… What did… Aw hell naw.” He slapped an open hand to his forehead and could not help laughing in embarrassment either.

After she managed to calm down and stop laughing, Reinforce rubbed her tears of mirth dry and said, “Come on, let’s finish up and go. It would have been nice to find out how they make this, but getting the recipes can come later. I need to get you some shades.”

Yuuno chuckled again as he shook his head. Nanoha had suggested that, since she would be going back to visit her family soon, a whirlwind tour of the continent that terminated in Japan would dovetail nicely. She had also been of the opinion that it would be an eye-opener. Though it was an easy mistake to make for an outsider, or gaijin as Nanoha’s native tongue would have it, all the more so for an off-worlder like them, Japan was not the centre of the universe. It would be far too foolish to automatically assume that Japan was representative of the whole Earth. Thus far, the trip had proven to be most educational. As of the present moment, they were currently in Singapore, a city-state so tiny that it was barely locatable on a world map. This one had been… well, both of the newlyweds were hard-pressed to describe it adequately. What did stick out most clearly in their minds was this fruit with a green spiky exterior, tasty yellow flesh and a most pungent odour. It was… what was it called again? Oh yes, a durian.

It was on the bus on the way to the next location when Yuuno said, “Maybe I would have been the one to become inconsequential.”

Reinforce raised an eyebrow and turned to look at her husband. “Is this about my question just now?”

Yuuno nodded. “I know it’s not wise to listen to the grapevine, but sometimes it’s just hard to not overhear.” He rested his head against Reinforce’s upper arm. “To hear Ramuta speak, you’d think that the Scaglietti Incident would never have affected me.”

“… What?” Reinforce sounded mortified by the thought. “That’s… impossible.”

Yuuno laughed, although there was a bitter note in it. “It gets better. Supposedly in another two years’ time, I’d have become such a non-entity that I would be unessential to the Library, not even appearing when… when…”

“You’re supposed to be there?” Reinforce finished. She knew Yuuno wasn’t quite the person to insist on his own importance.

Yuuno nodded. “After being forgotten by everyone else, including Nanoha,” he continued despite a sharp, surprised intake of air on Reinforce’s end, “that would be when I would supposedly be disposable enough for… them to get rid of me like they had always been hankering to do but could not while I still had some significance.”

Reinforce rubbed her forehead as if trying to get rid of a headache. “Some of these people have too much free time to think up wild scenarios.” She paused and licked her lower lip slowly. “None of the Sissies are following us, are they?”

Yuuno shook his head and ran a hand through Reinforce’s locks reassuringly. “That NIRTScan bit system I adapted hasn’t picked up anything. If Ib or any of those… those…”

“Mike Foxtrots?” Reinforce volunteered, unable to keep a hint of amusement out of her tone at the pilfered Earthling military lingo and what it really stood for.

Yuuno sighed. “Yes, those; if they had tried to portal in we should have known, between the two of us at least.”

Reinforce put an arm around Yuuno’s shoulders and shook her head. “Don’t trouble yourself with an impossible, nonexistent future. I know it must be tr-” She looked up as the bus captain informed them of their stop. “-oubling that others think so lowly of you. Come on, let’s go. Two decades of self-lo-”

Yuuno broke into laughter, took Reinforce’s hand, and together Mr. and Mrs. Scrya got off the bus.

I'm working on an omake for it; I don't know if I want to integrate it into this chapter or keep it separate. Will keep y'all posted.

Also, would you say I'm suffering from cookie-cutter-ism?

It's a nice piece, however I think you should focus on writing something to establish things like how they fell in love and got together. Right now it feels like jumping into the middle of a movie. I have no idea what they were talking about when they were worried some one was following them.

Also, I don't think Yuuno would say "Aw hell naw"
