So far, the waiting was not worthy, was it? At least, the colouring was improved. It's kind of suspicious that Kira looks worse, while good'old Athrun clearly benefited from the remaster. |

You know where Sunrise/Fukuda is gonna spend the rest of the Seed HD Remaster budget, after spending most of it on the new intros: on reanimating/prettying up Lacus.
So I guess the priority of reanimating characters would go to the following (from most important to least important):

The million dollar question is still left unanswered here :-
How do you think the Bluray of SeeD will sell after free samplings of 3 episodes (albeit in only 480p) and how many owners of SeeD DVD here will upgrade their collection to BD given the current state of the remaster ? |

I'd probably upgrade if we got real US BDs with both audio tracks and not psuedo imports at those JP prices where the first set of merely 12 eps is like $230-255 (SE-LE). Don't think I'd be able to justify the upgrade at that absurd price.

Wow seeing those shots next to each other I'd forgotten how off from Hisashi's designs they actually ventured with all the various different animation directors. Those two Athrun shots are pretty crazy. Glad to see they are fixing/improving the shading/lighting/shadows and coloring too (though not quite as much as they did in the shots I've seen of that Wing Remaster we never got in the US if I remember correctly? or am I only thinking of the Endless Waltz Remaster and the TV show only got a small update?) in addition to consolidating the character models into one animation director. Ashame it's just a relatively boring simple crop since it's not like they are doing this as a straight machine upscale, though I guess it would be pretty intensive to do anything else, since instead it's an actual project with funding. Since they're not doing much to help the upscaling of the footage they aren't doing much to, since that stuff still looks kinda fuzzy as Brightman said, I'm not sure how likely it is they'll get rid of much of the stock footage, but maybe for some of the bigger ones is what we can hope for. LOL. The shading on Flay is quite improved in the side by side shots. Actually it's good to see it looks like they are adding more shading to a lot of the shots. I have the dvd collection, As you may not know i rate SEED lowest in my gundam collection (series wise) so to answer your question no i wont be buying the BD. Seed left me with a bad aftertaste so even with the remaster i really doubt the new edition will convince me to spend money on something i dislike.
To wrap it up... deep down i do want this to be a success, bandai/sunrise with $$$ is a good thing for gundam Last edited by winter45; 2012-01-08 at 06:57. Reason: didnt finished post due *manager walking in* |
