Oh Jesus Christ this operation.
*whimpers* Still, I likey. Multiple tiers is pretty awesome. Okay, that means that I gotta do a Silver Extract first, to get my first commendation and level my charas, then I'll do 3 more.... and then it's a Platinum 4-way. Yep, looks like I'll need my Human adept for them biotic shockwaves. Or my Destroyer with Jessie. And I gotta get my N7 Paladin up to speed.

So uh...I managed to finish all 4 platinums today over 6 games(I did cerberus twice, failed one attempt.)...And it was my first day attempting platinum...
Gift Pack: Hurricane 6 Silver Commendation: Crusader 10 Platinum Commendation: Valkyrie 3 The key to victory? Geth Juggernaut. Get in the faces of Banshees, Brutes, and all the big melee targets and aggro them and hope your teammates have enough sense to target the thing while your shields can hold(3 Banshees or equivalents will eventually wear down the shields.) |

That's the same plan Lowe Gear and I employ; he draws aggro, while my N7 Paladin spams tech bursts. In fact that's how I survived my first ever Platinum match, and ended up as the top scorer, lol.

Anyways, wasn't able to play yesterday, *sighs* so here's to hoping I can get in a few solid rounds today. ...somehow, Firebase Hydra is my go-to map for shooting action. Probably because it's the first map where I managed to survive till Extraction when I was a noob

Well, to be honest, most of the guys I know on another network circle run X360 instead and play religiously since they were loyal since the first game(Top player in that group can boast that he's fired every gun in multiplayer). Thus, the PC roving crew is typically me towing along a rookie while being helped out occassionally by 2 decent players, one of whom more or less doesn't play much anymore(even skipped some weekend ops).

My impressions of the Citadel DLC, without spoiling: The plot was basically the cheesiest thing to ever come out of BioWare. And I mean cheesy. I'm thinking they wanted to send the game off with something light-hearted and silly, and it's safe to say they succeeded in getting that feeling. It's just a little jarring considering the tone set by the rest of the game.
The stuff that came with the DLC is also fun. The minigames in the arcade and casino are also a nice touch. And the Armax Arena; it's like Pinnacle Station, except actually done right. |

Cleared Lodestar Silver last night, using an N7 Destroyer and the M7 Lancer. Holy shit, in the hands of a Destroyer, the Lancer is one helluva weapon. I squeeze the trigger and things DIE. Though not as fast as the Hurricane (that reminds me, need to test the Hurricane with the Destroyer later).
Now it's on to Platinum. Good news is that if I clear Lodestar Insanity, I'll have enough creds for an extended shopping spree.... ...if the MP store doesn't stop giving me characters I already own. T___T

Citadel was a lot of fun, in a snarky way.
It contrasted nicely with the total doom and gloom of the main story, and makes you kind of wonder "what if" the game hadn't been so tightly focused on the end of the world and been a little more open/free form to allow more side adventures like this one. Anyways, it was total fanservice, and the only ME 3 DLC I actually enjoyed. It gives me hope that perhaps not every competent designer has jumped ship and that ME 4 may end up being a nice start to a new story in the ME universe.

I ran it pub with a Geth Juggernaut(3/6/6/5/6, Defensive 4 shot Siege Pulse, Healing Turret, Health for Fitness), cyclonic 3, and stronghold gear 2. Get everything to aggro on the prime and do whatever detonations you can, because the limit of a HP-focused fitness Juggernaut is like...2praetorian/2banshee/2atlas/2prime/2brute and 1 pyro/2 phantom/2dragoon/2hunter. That's the shield integrity maintenance limit, any more and you'll be slowly losing shields each heavy melee.

Our problem was that while Lowe Gear was heavy meleeing, I was charging shields with my Volus Sentinel, and we didn't have enough DPS.
Gonna try do some Gold runs latermwwith my DPS focused Destroyer.

Okay, some thoughts.
I haven't really been using the Destroyer so much, compared to my other classes, and my first run last year I specced him for Shield Recharge and Tankiness. I've now gone the opposite route for damage, because goddamn Silver and Gold Chew him up but good. Lancer, loaded with cryo ammo, works really well with an Engineer or anyone with Chain Overload, incidentally. I really like it - it's like a better Revenant, and the superior accuraccy and lower recoil mean I can slap an extended barrel to add more damage. Official announcement came in that MP Weekend Events are over, but servers and challenges remain up. This leaves me mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm a little sad that MP is ending. On the other hand, however, servers and MP store remain up, so there's still another year of gaming. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by how I went from being a noob to one of the top 100 players in Malaysia, and am consistently in the top 4th percentile of worldwide players. 18,800 out of over 550,000 isn't too bad. But mostly, it's been fun. Lots of fun. Now I'm just counting the days until my pay comes in, and then I'll play Citadel... Hmm. Maybe I should try out making a new Engineer Shep for a third run...

*checks his standings as well*
rank-wise 18846 global, 4096 in the USA(top 4% as well) challenge-wise 23111 gobal, 5491 in the USA(top 9%) mind you, you gotta remember that the bottom of the pile is padded by people who bought the game for its single player content only. |

Getting Citadel DLC later tonight.
Returning to the game, I decided to play as an Engineer Shepard, wielding my trusty N7. I was ready for a change, setting the game to Hard, since I wanted more of a challenge compared to- Wait, why are the enemies so weak? That's funny, I don't recall Hard being this easy. Wow, Engineer Shep is pretty OP and BAMF. Damn, AP Ammo is the most useful of the bonus powers. Dafuq, I'm pwing left and right, setting off fire explosions like they're going outta style. These Cerberus dudes are weak. Then I remembered that SP didn't have MP's balance changes. I now no longer fear boss encounters in ME3. Brute incoming? Fire Explosion & hose away with the Hurricane. Now I just need a recoil mod or something...

Citadel DLC can be summed up in three words - Wrex and Tali (assuming you get the conversation with Wrex at the bar. THAT is the most hilarious conversation I have ever heard in a game. Although, a drunk Tali comes close)
The mission was cheesy - wasn't expecting anything much either way. So, no disappointments there. I was more looking forward to the character interaction and this DLC does an amazing job of that. I would suggest playing it after completing the main game. Since, as was mentioned, it is in very stark contrast to the theme of the main plot. That aside, I have to say, the DLC content for ME-3 is pretty good and meaningful, I suppose. One question though - How the hell does Barla Von have the highest score in Armax Arena till you beat it?
