I am totally with Keios on The Powerful Motor Rhapsody for orchestra from the Ouran soundtrack. The name in itself is amusing, and it's a wonderful pastiche of Grieg.

Every insert song in Honey and Clover and Honey and Clover 2 - with honourable mention to Hachimitsu by Spitz.

The Heart Is A Girl's Parachute by Yuu Asakawa, which features twice in Azumanga Daioh.

I can probably come up with some more, but I'd need to think about it.

1. Trigun - Rakuen (Paradise)
2. Hellsing - Overly denotational dishonest road
3. Hellsing - hagakure no wasei
4. Scrapped Princess - Yukai na Nakama Tachi
5. Hellsing - I.B.C.J. houiami

7. Trigun - Scattered Rain
8. Trigun - Permanent Vacation

Sometimes it's tough to dissociate the music from the product itself...

With that said, I'm very impressed with the soundtrack from D. C. ~ Da Capo and Gift ~ Eternal Rainbow. I heard it was done by the same composer (Hikaru Nanase); surprised that KyoAni couldn't outbid Moonstone for her rights.

To Heart (original) also had a very soothing and memorable soundtrack. Nice use of strings, flutes, and keyboard.

As for action anime? Loved the Eurobeat songs from Inital D. They always got my blood pumping.

Hmmmm, only ten.. well in no particular order
  • Kelas (Lets Dance) - Conqueror of Shamballa
  • I Think I Can - FLCL
  • Only the Fairy Tale - Mai Hime
  • Free Bird- Haibane Renmei
  • Rei I - Evangelion
  • Inochi no Namae (Name of Life)- Spirited Away
  • Never Meant to Belong - Bleach
  • Bratja (Brothers) - FullmetalAlchemist
  • Main Theme - Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (track one on the OST)
  • Vagrancy - Samurai Champloo

Wow thats 10 already, but there are so many more

Also, I've only seen the 1st ep of Trinity Blood but there was a piano piece in that which sounded lovely.

I cant list that many, and Im not good with knowing song titles and their performers, but I really love Yoko Kannos music from Cowboy Bebop, especially greenbird ( if any one can find the actual lyrics as she sings them, not the translation, Ill make them something special for turning me on to them). Also I really like Obukuri Emui from Samurai Champloo ep 14. Also the title music and well all of it really from FLCL, and for some weird reason I really like the title track for Paranoia Agent. Shrugs.

There is just so much great music inside of so much anime. Anime in general makes like US boxoffice film look like crap. I never watch that stuff anymore.

There are shitloads of good songs I'd want to list, but these are what I've been listening to lately. Not necessarily my all time favourites.

FINALLY!
Someone know about Senjou no Ketsui. It is an awesome song!!!

Okay my favs, not in order ... (and since I only can have 10 ... I kinda cheat here)

Senjou no Ketsui & Justice and Freedom (Gundam Seed)
Yasashisa Omoide & Mama (Matentai Loki Ragnarok)
Princess Fuun Big adventure & After the tradegy (Naruto Movie1)
Yasashisa no Okuri Mono (Rose of Versailles)
Bridging the loneliness, Shou (Sailor Moon R, S)
Last Battle, Omoi, Sadaime (X TV)
Soredemo Aitsu to (Full Metal Panic Fumoffu)
Nina (City Hunter)
Kizuna (Fate. Stay night)
Morning, Hinata vs Neji, Grief and Sorrow, Hero (Naruto)

I could go on and on and on ... but this is a glimpse of my fav.

  • Deja View (xxxHolic Original Soundtrack)
  • shizuka na hibi (xxxHolic Original Soundtrack)
  • The First Signature (Code Geass OST I)
  • I talk to the rain (Tsubasa Chronicole OST I)
  • Femme (Tsubasa Chronicle OST III)
  • Jealousy (Asatte no Houkou Original Soundtrack - truth)

  • Denen / Ashita he no Yuuki / Yakusoku no Asa ni / etc ('Door to Another World' melody pieces)
    Simoun, Toshihiko Sahashi
  • Adieu
    Cowboy Bebop, Yoko Kanno/Emily Bindiger
  • Kira, Just as He Pleases / Justice and Freedom
    Gundam Seed Destiny/Seed, Toshihiko Sahashi
  • Suppuration-Core-
    Kannazuki no Miko, KOTOKO
  • Fake Wings / Aura
.Hack//Sign, Yuki Kajiura/(Emily Bindiger sings the first... Though, actually I'm not sure if she or Yuriko Kaida performs the latter)
  • Sentou Kuuiki
    Eureka Seven, Sato Naoki
  • Kannazuki no Miko
    Kannazuki no Miko, Nami Kuboto
  • Shangri-la
    Noein, Hikaru Nanase
  • Heaven's Not Enough
    Wolf's Rain, Yoko Kanno/Steve Conte
  • The Beast II
    Evangelion, Shiro Sagisu

And that's about it ^^; I'm sure there's a few things I'm forgetting... If you want to count them, then basically any of The Pillows' material that got used in FLCL... and then basically everything Toshihiko Sahashi did on the Simoun OSTs are pure gold, along with a lot of other things of Yoko Kanno and Yuki Kajiura's work.
