For those expecting one on ones, you won't be dissapointed. (Or will you?) The sand three are chasing after the four something-somethings (sorry haven't watched naruto since 135) and it doesn't take long before the four guys start breaking off from the main group ala sound four to stop the pursuers. Temari coveniently is suited up against another wind user (and a woman at that). Kankurou faces off against uhh... something weird. (Guess if he does the 'you thought it was me, but it's a doll'-thing.) Gaara faces off against a guy who wears something that messes up the chakra controlling the sand. Things are looking bad for Temari and Kankurou, but just when needed, Shikamaru (and Ino) appears to rescue Temari and Kiba (and Chouji) appear to rescue Kankurou, stating word for word the same line given by the sand during the chasing Sasuke-arc. (We're the shinobi of the leaf, allies of the sand, bla bla bla.)
Episode gets a 1 for originality. If Gaara needs saving I'm gonna cry.

Word of advice, keep your expectations down, and you'll enjoy it more.

Appearantly the last episode was good, but I didn't like this one one bit (see my post above). Did give it a three, but I reserve my 1s and 2s for when they mess up the manga arcs. If I were you I'd wait. Maybe watch the last part on the 8th, since it's bound to be manga material.
Spoiler for A few more in-depth thoughts:
It's pretty clear from the get-go that this episode was going to be a homage to the save Sasuke-arc and the help Sunagakure provided. I didn't see the last episode (except for the very last few minutes) but I take it from this episode a sand ninja (seems to be a student of sorts of Gaara's?!) was taken by these four hoodlums (lets call them the Brick 4) and being Sunagakure's only qualified ninjas, Gaara, Kankurou and Temari are going after them. Am I close?
Naruto and co. even mentions that they're going to repay the favour from last time, and we're provided with a lengthy flashback to that episode. As mentioned above, Temari takes on the first of the four, Kankurou the second and Gaara the third. The Kankurou/Kiba and Temari/Shika situations are basically completely reversed in this episode with the exception that these fights are absolutely ridiculous.
In fact it's really brave of the anime to make such a copycat episode, because it makes it mainstakingly clear, how inferior the anime writers are at writing characters, action and plot compared to Kishimoto. Even if you have to protect continuity, you should be able to get more out of the source material than this. Gaara's fight has only just begun but I'm afraid it's all too clear that he's going to need help defeating that nerd, which just feels ridiculous.
The anime team's problem is that the filler arcs are simply too short to tell an interesting story. If I watch Naruto next week, it's only because it requires no more effort than pushing a button.
Not that bad for a filler. Though it dose seem like garaa is a bit different. He talks a bit more and is unfamiliar with his words, unlike the old garaa who was strait to the point and cold.
The episode was alright, the shinobi after garaa dissapointed me though... well so far... simply because they seem only to have power through there weapons. Swords, armor, and some others not confirmed. It would seem they rely on them far to much.
Well it is filler and the real story is right around the corner so no serious complaints here.

I dont like the fact that Kankuro and Temari would losing to them, They are both Curse Seal 2 capable, i highly doubt that these scrubs are Jounin + level

dude with blue 3 headed dragon sword, thats and awesome sword and interesting with the chakra mold for the sword, i wonder if its possible to seal a demon into a sword and manipulate its chakra.....
I loved this one, it was so incredibly cool. Not very original, but still great to watch.
I don't think Gaara's character is ruined, some people are just sad because he isn't the cold, little emo-kid he used to be, I like him better this way, much better.
well its a filler but in terms of destroying the reputation of the sand shinobi its not bad, becoz the feeling i was getting, was that these "brick" jonins arnt as powerful as them but they have a natural and seemingly unfair ridiculous advantage over them through the use of there weapons

a sword that actually controls the wind/temari's fan attacks
an extending chakra sword that is capable ripping things to shreds/kankuros puppets
and this is the worst f*ckin one - chakra absorbing armour/that is seemingly able to nulify most of garras attacks
anyways honest truth becoz i wana watch more naruto is there any specific filler episode that is worth watchin except this new arc
I gave this episode a 8, who cares if it's reversed rolls of the Save Sasuke Arc, this kinda shit happens in real life too.
Even if their attacks are weapon based, they are still using jutsus and thus, using chakra. Though I cannot say the same for the big guy, unless he has to use chakra in order for his armor to absorb attacking chakra.
Wind vs. Wind - this match up makes sense, cause I personally think Kankuro and Gaara would have a real hard time against this chick.
The other two match ups didn't really matter I think, either way if Kankuro and Gaara got one another's opponents, it still would of been interesting, though I think Gaara's match if he fought the 3-Headed Dragon Sword guy, would of been quicker.
This arc is still going strong, in comparison to the previous filler arc where it went severely downhill after the intro episode.
-Decided to give this one a 7 because the previous episode was quite enjoyeable. This isn't the best that there is but for a filler episode it certainly is a good one. I want to know which anime writer has been hired recently as it looks like the writers there are actually trying to make this seem like an "actual" Naruto episode...

I think the only reason people think this last arc is okay is because they know subconsciously it's the last one. Kind of like parents and their spoiled youngest child. They're more tolerant of whatever happens because they know it's the last time they'll have to deal with it. Waited 80+ episodes for fillers to end, won't hurt to wait a few more.
