Well... I recently watched the first movie, and it was enjoyable, but they totally screwed up the "Uso Da!" scene. Keiichi was cute, but a terrible actor. o_o' As for the others, they didn't really resemble any of the character's personalities at all (Oishi looked like some random guy they picked off the street), and although Satoko's actor was adorable (but still not quite like Satoko >_<'), my love for Higurashi kept me going through it. And, turns out, some scenes were portrayed very well, many others not so much. -cough- -_- But the crazy Rena in the school hallways flashback I found rather enjoyable when taken out of context just to send to my friends at 1:00 am. >w<

Now: As for my thoughts on the second movie:
Are they seriously skipping right to the last arc of the first season (who's name evades me even though I just rewatched the series)?? If anybody's seen it or knows about it, PLEASE inform me.

Yeah, they made it more... erm.. graphic. But that's a good thing... because it's Higurashi, and it's rated R from what I've seen. ^^

Btw, did anyone notice that at the door scene and some other parts Keiichi's shirt said f**k over and over? o_O

You know what was really funny about that when we were there in Japan at that time my friend Arthur bought that exact shirt and this is suppose to be 1983 XD We we chuckling in the theater when we saw that.

Was a bit pissed about paying 18 bucks to see a movie on a smaller screen than what I pay 9.75 for. Anyone know what is happening with the 2nd movie?

Just watched the first movie, after putting it off for a while.



...I think that sums up my final thoughts on it well enough.

Since I don't know a lick of Kanji/Katakana, I've got a question. I took a quick look through the topic to see if anyone else had already answered this, I apologize if I missed it.

Spoiler for End of the movie:

The notes shown at the very end of the movie... The subs I had translated Oishi as saying they were Mion's notes. Is that incorrect, and they were actually the notes Keiichi wrote? If so, I can take a guess at what they said, based on the sound novel. If not, then I'd really like to know what they said. I'm so disappointed in how the movie came out that I would not be surprised if something like this was thrown in there (though, I'm more inclined to believe it was a mistranslation in the subs).

I did not mind the first movie, the phone scene was good. But the second movie looks like it will be much better. Think they raised the budget and got better cgi. We can all hope acting improves. I like tomitake in first one, though others did not

Wow, it looks... decent? I see that they decided to keep that scene of Rena slicing her neck. But wow, so what, did they decide to film Atonement so the moviegoers aren't like WTF!?!?!? & they would understand kinda what happened during Onikakushi?
