Still they could have just made the fights a few minutes longer to fill out of the episodes.

They do this for all animes with a long term series.

Most times is because they want to slow it down so they can let the source get more content/details/plot, etc etc

Otherwise it's really really long fillers...

Anyways, not bad for this week's episode. Jackal's transformation looked legit while Happy made a triumphant moment for himself. Some foreshadowing already made this episode too. I'm not liking that Midnight design in the episode PV though.

7 mins recap. And the Afro Happy. Since the anime handled Jackal's final bomb so nicely, it feels like Afro Happy is even more BS than in the Manga.

Enough recap to make me wonder if I was watching last week's episode And, well, about that other thing, there's no other way to go about it.

You can't have the team mascot dying, you know! Although I admit that he should at least be down like the raijinshuu, it was an explosion that could wipe out an entire city.

Jackal's animal form was pretty tough.
Still... not tough enough for our guys.
The other teams had their own problems..
That council seems to be hiding something big!

Yeah, I agree that Happy surviving that so uninjured is pretty painful BS. At least make him down for the rest of the arc. The fact that he's pretty much fine means he didn't actually need to bother. That explosion clearly was all flash and at most would have singed a few roof tops.

And the recaps....my god they are crazy at this point. Might as well just start the ep half way through.

In the end lucky for Natsu and company that Jackal's "I've lost so screw you guys" move is a lot less effective than the one Laxus fought. The fight was good though. Always fun having Natsu just knock around someone who was pretty cocky beforehand. Good action.

If that's the reason, they'd better animate these fights well like the first half of the episode from last week.

7 min recap is meh.

Until they make it up to 10 min recap like one piece did a few times, it's not at all impressive. LOL


(fairy tail have it 5 mins + 2 min OP
one piece have it 8 mins + 2 min OP at one time)
Both had recaps before and after the OP


Also, if anything, the recaps are to slow down anime's pace, because it's getting close to source material (manga).

I doubt it's really to save money. Since a lot of currently airing animes also have 3~5 mins recaps.

Think it's like a normal thing for anime now... long recaps... LOL

The anime is still going by its usual two-chapters-per-episode rate, so it's still going to catch up.

Like Blue said nothing has changed with the amount they adapted ever since the Oracion Seis arc. It's just instead of adding material to fill in the runtime, they've resorted to these long recaps instead. That plus the animation problems plaguing recent A-1 anime leads me to believe it has to be budget saving measures. One Piece this ain't.

Next episode probably shouldn't have much recap since A.) There isn't a lot of fighting in the next two chapters and B.) I believe one (Or maybe both) of them are double in length.

The Happy thing was one of the most annoying life sparing moments ever, at least have some one save him some how, I know I shouldn't take logic into account when it comes to these types of series but LOL.

Natsu V.S Jackal was awesome, think one of my favorite fights.

I don't mind the crappy Animation in long running Anime that I like. Recaps are sure awful though, when I watch the episode and the recap starts off with it first I keep thinking I already saw the episode and wonder when the new ones coming out. Took me a little while to realize how long the recap was :/
