Maybe, maybe not. many legends dealing with Yokai also point out its not that difficult for humans to become Yokai . Kuesu herself is a case in point.

I did come up late into this discussion, I did check out the epilogue and it definitely confirms that Himari and the MC(darn it, I forgot his name) had their "private time together." At least this puts an actual end to this manga.
