I didn't see him acting different in any way to what you call his "ecchi harem", unless you're somehow trying to blame the bath scenes on him (in which case, WTF). He is still presented as a strong and responsible character. See how he takes action immediately when Urutori runs away with the baby. Even though he knows it will hurt her, he knows what he has to do.

Karura has always been one for mischief. What she does when Eruruw walks in on her and Hakuoro is again just to tease Eruruw. Seems perfectly in character to me.

Touka has a serious side and a clumsy side. She also has a weak spot for things that are cute (see her reaction to Gachatara in the series itself). She doesn't get a lot of screentime in this episode, so only the latter traits are shown. I didn't notice anything different about her.

I hate to break it to you, but Eruruw is a tsundere character, even in the main series (not that this makes her any less lovable). She is as much inclined to act on her angriness as she is to sulk. She seemed perfectly in character to me.

I'm won't deny that it could have been better, but the fact that the OVA takes place in mid-series explains a lot of the things you didn't seem to understand (i.e. why certain characters were alive).

Glad we are in agreement on this point. Fan service has its place in Utawareru Mono, but not to this extent, and definitely not at the sacrifice of good plot.

I thought the bath scene in epi01 was quite enjoyable. o: That one in 02 was totally tasteless though. As for sticking to characters and whatnot, I'm guessing most fans that follow the radio and live shows wouldn't mind the way they are portrayed now. Heck, I don't even remember much of what happened in the game and never bothered to finish watching the TV series. All I can remember now when I think of Uta is Yuzu-nee (Eruruu) getting psychotically jealous at the slightest hints that Riki-chan (Hakuoro) might be cheating on her with one of the other casts, and then threaten to stab him with a fork. I'd prefer a laugh over tawdry shounen stuff anytime, and hearing those familiar voices is always a plus. =D

I don't follow the radio shows or any of the stuff unrelated to the story itself. From what I've seen in the anime and the game, their behaviour in the OVA was very natural, and frankly I'm surprised that people are claiming that they are somehow acting different.

3rd ep was hilarious thanks to Touka's crazy expressions and Aruruu being Aruruu Reminds me just how much I've missed this show.

Hopefully they can make another season or a spinoff someday.

oh god I want to hug Guraa. That's pretty much all I have to say about OVA 3.


And regarding the previous discussion, the OVAs very clearly went more in line with the game than with the anime series (as was pretty much said would be the case back when the OVAs were announced). Touka was way more of a comic relief character in the game, unlike in the anime where she was mostly serious with a brief moment or two of silliness. And the entire plot of OVA #1 came directly from the game (the most significant chunk of game story that was absent from the anime)
