AnimeSuki Choice Awards 2012 Winners
Winners of the 2012 AnimeSuki Choice Awards! A big thank you to felix for helping me organize this year's Awards. He was responsible for handling the counting system as well as all 23 banners. Thanks also to Dr. Casey, Reckoner, Fahd, Sackett, Kanon, SeijiSensei, Triple_R and Blue-kun for their help. Your contributions were much appreciated. And finally, thank you to everyone who participated in these Awards! Feel free to add any discussion, but please try to keep it friendly and refrain from flaming winners that you didn't support. In general I am pleased with the results. Just seeing Chihayafuru win best series of the year makes me ecstatic because it is richly deserved in my opinion.
I didn't vote in the continuing series category because I just couldn't decide between Psycho Pass and Shin Sekai Yori so its nice to see that it was such a close race between them. They are both fantastic series. There were a few disappointments: I think I am most disappointed in the Best Male character winner. I think that category had the strongest nominations and yet my least favorite of all the nominees won. Kiritsugu is not a bad character and I liked his ending but I thought he was one of the least engaging characters in Fate Zero...but obviously people disagreed. Speaking of Fate Zero I am happy it didn't overtake the awards especially since it won so many last year. It was an entertaining series so I don't begrudge its success (I even voted for it in a few categories, all of which it won) but I would have been disappointed if this was just the Fate Zero awards, luckily that didn't happen. And though I didn't vote for him to give other characters a chance, Rider is a deserving character to win two years in a row. I am also disappointed Tsuritama couldn't win anything, it's this great original series but then it's not like I am surprised, same with Natsume Yuujinchou not winning anything. Thanks to Haak & Felix and everyone else who organized this. I personally liked the categories this year and really loved the continuing series category. I definitely hope that one stays.

10 of my 23 votes turned into winners, and there's nothing here I find terribly disagreeable.
I'm glad that Hyouka, Fate/Zero, and Tari Tari each won at least one award, as they were my three favorite anime shows of 2012 that were up for awards in the first 22 categories. Fate/Zero had a particularly good showing, of course, but I don't think any of its awards was baseless, and I myself voted for it in about half of those categories. The Award Winners overall are fairly diverse, and I think they represent a good representation of the best anime shows of 2011. Excellent work, Haak and Felix.

I was really afraid Chihayafuru would only win the token 'best sport' category (admittedly I would have logged out and never come back if it lost in that category) so I was really happy to see it also won 'best TV series'.
Also interesting to point out is that if all people voted for Jinrui wa in a single genre category it would have won, now it hasn't won in either of them. Anyway thanks for hosting the event Haak, felix and all the other people who have helped.

Really happy Hyouka getting visuals, SAO getting World Setting, and Accel World getting Sci-fi.
Surprised Chihayafuru managed to take not only best sport, but best TV series, it's certain a very good overall series so deserving of it. Most disappointing Fate/Zero winning soundtrack as I don't consider it deserving of it, though I am plenty happy with the other things it won. Only others were choices I didn't really care for were comedy and drama, but oh well.

Most of the choices I agree with. However, Hoturabi No Mori E in 2nd place with K-On in 1st? Their places should be switched in my opinion. Since HNME was an amazing anime movie despite it's short length in time.
Now....Nunnally In Wonderland as the best ova?! The ova lacked in the animation department. The little motion of the characters disappointed me and made it unbearable to watch.

Toward the end of the voting I thought we needed a sticky banner as is used for moderator announcement. I'd put that on the list of things to do for next year, for both the nomination and the voting phase. It doesn't have to be there for the entire period, but perhaps just the last week in each case.

Well... I was frankly pretty depressed that such a strong anime year could produce such an uninspired list of winners, but seeing Chihayafuru win Best Series and Watashi Best Female Lead is some consolation.

I think what hurts me the most is that for me, 2012 was far more fulfilling for me than 2011 and offered a bit of variety/aspects going against the norm. Yet it was those that were the norm or already known that dominated. I expected Fate/Zero to crush, so no surprise. I'm just stunned that aside from Chihayafuru, categories were won by generic titles in droves.
