[Fall 2018] Nanoha the MOVIE 4th Detonation
So we have a date for Detonation screening in Japan: 19th October 2018.
Soo, which means I'll see it probably in summer 2019. Also:

My biggest satisfaction is that Detonation, like Reflection, doesn't focus on Fate to Nanoha's detriment like the first movie and the A's movie. Reflection and Detonation treated Nanoha well.

I just watched it and was quite impressed. The combat was a lot faster than the TV anime (well, yeah, budget, but still) and I like how they have finally figured out somewhere along the way that if you want to say something is moving really fast ... yeah, altered colors and no talk does help.
But my personal favorite are the little Iris and Yuri flashback scenes. Nanoha has always been good at throwing us these "nice, touching past" scenes to make us feel better about the "bad girls of the season", and this one didn't disappoint. Still, I must put a bit of snark at the interview about 23:30. No matter how humans claim to love their robots, sometimes their tails show a little, as in here, when they put Iris and the recently recovered Unidentified, Possibly Dangerous Thing out in the boonies for the interview. The humans? They are hiding in a bunker |

Honestly, if this is how they're gonna treat the original characters they might as well let the franchise die.

Finally seen it today.
There are some combaty bits that I quite like, but there is also a whole steaming pile of HAXOR BS and everybody throwing physical attacks and them being the only things that work while normal mages get shat on. Also the background plot doesn't actually make much sense and it seems to me they more wanted to cram every single bit from every single iteration of the franchise (including the bit with there being cats in the Materials mangas) to the deteriment of the story being told.
