I don't like the time-slip theory, but it's a high possibility (at least for me). Think about it, considering the mummy condition we can conclude that many times had passed since they died (probably 10 years?)...but their technology are so advanced for them to be from 10 years ago.

In any case I'm leaning towards a "Jurassic Park gone bad" scenario as the likeliest overall explanation, even if the details are still unknown. If it is a "Jurassic Park" scenario then that 4th building will probably turn out to be a hotel-like facility.

I really think the island is just off-limits because the experiments went out of control, and the government made sure it was kept quiet.

I kind of know what will happen in a few next chapters. That female teacher is nothing but burden. Now Sengoku and Yarai would have to fight each other because of her. What a useless character!

Spoiler for lengthy speculah: What seems very likely is that the generator in the pyramid powered a "cloaking device" (probably emitted from that tower in the center of the island), with the lighthouse used as a lookout / control-point for the "cloak". At some point there was an incident, the animals got loose, the scientists got eaten (or whatever), and the infrastructure was left to rot. Sometime after that the generator broke down, the cloaking field stopped working, and then our plane crash-landed on the island. All well and good, but there're two logic problems with it. One is this: (A) if the "breakdown incident" happened long enough ago to account for all the decay, and the island is where it is, then it's hard to believe the island wouldn't have been discovered years before the start of this story. So it's a safe bet that the "cloaking field deactivation" must've happened right around the start of the story. But then we get (B): if (1) the island now has no cloaking field and (2) the island's that close to Japan, it seems hard to believe planes wouldn't spot it / a rescue team wouldn't spot it, barring some kind of conspiracy/cover-up. But, obviously no one's come looking and it seems like no one else has visited the island yet, either, so what gives? You can make it work if you assume a chronology like this: (1) shortly before start of story: incident on island, scientists eaten, maintenance stops; (2) start of story: cloaking field drops, plane "sucked into vortex" somehow; (3) due to magic the plane time-slips 2-3 decades into the future as it passes through the collapsing cloaking field. But for now without a time slip in there somewhere I don't see an obvious logical way to square the "cloaking-field broke" theory with both (a) the island's location and (b) the amount of time needed for the decay to happen. Thanks to the mixed chemicals he made and the fire that Doctor started, it cause an explosion that confuse everyone and allowed everyone to escape thanks to Minna. However, Mami gets caught by the Doctor and he's pissed off that he got wounded on the face by the explosion and wants to do the same thing to her. But luckily Yarai come to the rescue and stops him and demands answers. Mami also sees his future and it appears Yarai will beat someone in bloody pulp. __________________

And now we know what Kurusu-sensei injuries are, internal bleeding in the abdomen. Looks like the Doctor might use this to make Yarai fight Akira. __________________
