May we please change the name of the Gundam GIF thread to Gundam Avatar request or something familiar? Because new people might get confused or think there are no static avatars.

I'm not all that fond of the idea of a thread to rehash the vague similarities of one show to another somewhat similar show to begin with. Unless and until the resemblance becomes much stronger, I don't see a reason for such a thread.

can we split the "00 Discussion and News [Spoilers]" threat into 2 separate threads: Discussion, and News? I'm much more interested in news posting than discussion since the latter always goes so far off topic with speculation

News postings always lead to discussion though, which amounts to pretty much the same thing, especially if said news becomes a hot topic.

I'm not sure how those threads are being used currently, but I don't believe that should be done. There are rumors that may not be confirmed yet (and therefore we wouldn't want them to be mistaken as true before any confirmation), but may still be interesting enough to be shared. Ideally, that's when the Rumors thread is used.

monstert is correct here. The Discussion and News thread should be used to talk about new announcements from credible sources while the Rumors thread should be used for people to guess about what's going to happen and any information from non-official channels. I'm going to monitor these threads more closely so there shouldn't be as much clutter in the future.

Hmmm... A mecha thread for all other Gundam titles then? Although IMHO the existing mecha thread should be renamed to allow the discussion of other series' tech, so as to keep the discussions in a single place (much like the Macross Mech&Tech thread).

That's not a bad idea. General Gundam Mecha, Weapons, and Technology thread revitalized here: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=785665. It should be used to discuss technology from any Gundam work other than Gundam 00.

I think that the Gundam 00 thread will dominate discussion enough that it'd be too messy for anyone trying to discuss anything else. This is less a problem for Macross because it all takes place in the same universe, so discussion from an older show can still be quite germane to the newer ones.

A single thread for the non-00 works should suffice for now.
