well i also hate the new design. maybe it is because they felt it is too hard to draw it for the rest of the season.....

The problem with original second shift design is that it has so much articulation it's not funny

Even Akatsubaki is much easier to animate, keeping the original 2nd Shift byakushiki will be time consuming and expensive

While I prefer 2nd Shift, as I tend to do with upgrades, I can understand why a studio would want to keep using the version of Byaku Shiki that's easier to animate.

Ideally, it'd be great if Ichika brings out 2nd Shift again during a climactic moment in season 2's finale

How do we know he's not faking it, like a certain other half Japanese Harem Protagonist? Although I think this discussion has been beaten half to death somewhere - whether Ichika is really that dense, or whether he simply pretends to ignore the flags, so as to not arouse the wrath of the rest of his harem.

It's popular because either viewer hanging on small hope of things get better, watching it for certain characters, or watching it for cheap laugh.

That, is a complex question. In short, it's the culmination of all things a typical audiance want: Harem+Mecha+High School.

With me, I've got a lot of potential in tickling with IS in my Fanfictions.

Who know? I still prefer Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei above High School DxD. And beside, the last season of it hadn't done very well.

Back to the topic. Actually, the Anime has made IS somewhat a waste. I admit that the Novel has flaws, but not this terrible.

I've been wanting to ask: what is the right name of Charl's IS, is it Rafael/Raphael or Rafale?
I'm a little bit confused about the two names.

BTW, it's interesting to note that rafale is the French word for squall.

Spoiler for Comparison to Highschool DxD: hard to believe. in my opinion DxD at first to middle has a good plot etc. BUT at the later volume all i can say is "WTF. now the story become more unrealistic or stupid (no offense to the fans) and many more. so much that i choose to drop it." true DxD and IS have a similarity with the main chara has a connection / relation with one of the big name in the respective series but the development of the story for DxD is stupid. where the main chara suppose to died but suddenly get revive and more powerful is a big down quality for me. in an event of a battle against GOD where there are suppose a casualties but turn out to be none??? it is $%clogic in my honest opinion. the IS on the othere hand put an element of mystery like an IS core where a development of story can branch to many way. a good preparation if i say. Spoiler* for Comparison to Mahouka: as for mahouka, well i can only say it is too unbalance in many way. an overpower sibling where the little sister has a vast talent and beauty but turn out to be a complete bro con while the brother possess a $%clogic talent in knowledge, martial art, strategy, magic, etc. well i think it will better if tatsuya is not an omniscience. that is all i can say...
