I know there's nothing new to this, maybe that a new character will appear? But still I'll post it

“In the name of Joan of Arc, I command you, fourteen servants.”
- Jeanne d’Arc, The Ruler.

The story is focused on a Holy Grail War separate from that of the five Fuyuki Wars, with 14 servants instead classic 7. There will be two factions where there will be 7 red servants vs. 7 black servants. The story will be centered around Joan of Arc. The Holy Grail war is checkers-alike leitmotif.

Joan of Arc/Jeanne d’Arc a.k.a Ruler, plays an important role in Fate Apocrypha and is also main protagonist in this series, featuring a new character who will be alongside with her.

Full novel will be released sometime in the winter 2012.

Well it's not anything unexpected. We have 15 known servants. And now there is a need to introduce their masters. Currently we know only one. Remains at least 13 others. I wonder what they are?

I think that main male characters probably will be Siegfried and his master.

When it comes to how it will be darker in comparison to Fate/Zero. You try to compare previous Higashide's works with those from Urobuchi.
Well, I'll gladly admit that I'm wrong then. Looking forward to this series as compared to the harem LN series. (Partly a reason why I like to work on KSGU now) With the backstory of Zouken and Angra Mainyu around, this is to be expected, huh?

Anyone know which publisher will be in charge of this series? It will determine whether it will be a LN or an actual novel.

More feminine stuff than Fate/Zero, going to get more gruesome...

It will be published apparently under Type-Moon's label "TYPE-MOON BOOKS".

The only part that worries me is how bad they're gonna botch the legends... again. Sigurd, I don't think people realize, is capable of overpowering demigods... which is no mean feat for a mortal. (For those of you who do now know what I'm talking about, Siegfried overpowered the Valkyrie Brunhilde).

Gram or Balmung, depending on the legend. Additionally, the sword is made of a celestial metal (thanks to Odin). Yet... I wonder if he'll keep his Shroud of Shadows (allows him to disguise himself as anyone). It would be truly great irony if he was betrayed by his master, as that is what happens in his legend. Brunhilde, who loves Seigfried, is the wife of King Guenther of Burgundy. Because he had been bewitched by a potion of love by the King's sister, Kreimhild, he no longer loves her and at one point, greatly offends her. Brunhilde demands his death, only to learn how Kreimhild had caused the debacle to begin with. After Siegfried is killed, Brunhilde kills everyone responsible before killing herself on his funeral ship. Yeah, that legend does NOT have a happy ending.

Note: Brunhilde is married to Guenther because Siegfried disguises himself as him to defeat her in combat, which is no easy task. You overpower a Valkyrie.

I dont remember him fighting her. but I've only read tolkiens translation of the volsung saga. It only had him walking through a circle of fire which seemed to be enough to impress her. He does have some similarities to Lancelot with the whole forbidden love thing. I wonder if they'll bring in his horse. It's suppose to be an offspring of Odin's horse.

Brunhilde didn't agree with Odin on a certain matter, and cast her down to the mortal realm as punishment. Additionally, she was to sleep surrounded by a ring of fire of which no mortal man could enter. Siegfried managed to go through and wake her up. In order to find Siegfried, Brunhilde put out a competition for her hand in marriage, which was to impress her, then best her in combat. If they failed, she got to kill them. According to the lore, one of the tasks was to do better than her at a boulder toss, which she threw ~72 feet and then jumped on top of it in a single leap. He then beat her in combat, all the while posed as Guenther.

You can imagine how pissed Brunhilde was when she learned that she had been tricked like this.

A few translations, and I pick out what seems to be in common, and what makes the most sense according to the mythos.
