I had the exact same thought when I saw the premise.

In any case, I'd definitely want to check this out come summer.

Regular length

There's only two short series (and one half length one) this season. That I'm aware of.

Nice. I'm betting this anime will be as relevant to my office life as Office Space was, and still is.

The first episode was pretty damn fun. I liked all of the characters, with my favorites being Yamagami and Hasebe. The comedy was excellent and you could feel the similarities with Working!! Anybody who liked it should enjoy this series just fine. Edit: welp, looks like I was wrong

The beginning of the episode reminded me of my first day at work. Feels nostalgic.

Yeah, it's kinda weird hearing Kayano voicing the sharp-tongued character, while Nakahara voicing the docile one when they're usually typecasted the other way around. Makes me wonder if they made a mistake in the casting. (not that either were bad, mind you)

Overall though, Hasebe is what made the episode for me. The playboy character works so much better here in the office setting than it does say, the high school setting, as his antics made the show. Clearly he was made for the civil servant job, but damn, is he lazy. XD

So far I enjoy this more than working. Maybe it is the office environment vs a restaurant which I can relate to more.

Also the older people telling you their life stories and you having to go but feeling bad, I can relate.

There were lots of things about this first episode that I liked, but what will count is whether it has legs and doesn't run out of gags by the third episode.
Does seem to be a good mix of characters, though.

A slice of civil servant life !

Though slightly different, it does still maintain the same level of charm as "Working!!" did.

And it's certainly a nice change from all the middle/high school settings and characters for these types of stories.

Of course from the opening & ending we can see there will still be a high school girl in this. But one is better than the whole cast I guess.
