Knight Lamune & 40

I couldn't see a thread made for either incarnation of this series so I thought I would make one. This is a series still currently being subbed by a joint connection of Dattebayo and Live-Evil.

In 2009, 5 out of 38 of the 1990 series "NG Knight Lamune & 40" have been subbed by Nyoro~N: http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/1472.html

Prior to that, in 2008 the later 1996 series called VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire was picked up by Live-Evil: http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/1239.html This series is shorter with only 26 episodes in total. L-E did 3 in 2008, then after continuing with a 4th in 2010, was joined by DB to do 5-11

Currently the tracker is incomplete for VS Fire. Episode 5 is missing. I found it listed on Live-Evil's tracker (http://live-evil.fansub-torrents.com/) : http://live-evil.fansub-torrents.com...5D.avi.torrent

So hopefully someone could add that.

There is another 12 episode anime called "Lamune" but I'm not sure if it's related, I'm guessing not since it came after NG, and lacks the "Knight and 40": http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/708.html

So, did anyone else start watching VS Fire due to these groups picking it up? Knowing that there is a prequel, would you watch the 5 available episodes, or skip it due to incompleteness?

The 12-episode anime called Lamune was unrelated to this because of the different story, characters and elements, or what based or original material (the first is based off an eroge while the latter is an original story).

Ah okay, I thought as much. But clearly the 2 "knight and 40" lamune are linked. I am hoping we can use this thread to discuss both of the series being tracked. L-E picking it up makes me take notice, they usually pick quality productions.

Both NG Knight Lamune and 40 and VS were fansubbed by someone back in the 90s (VHS days). IIRC only one was completed, and I think it was VS. I vaguely remember watching a few tapes of it, but I gave my VHS fansubs away long ago so I can't be sure which it was. It's unfortunate that a lot of those fansub scripts from the pre-digital era seem to have vanished into the ether.

Really? Well it looks like Live-Evil went and subbed all 26 episodes of versus at this point, I guess they either didn't know about it or wanted to do improved quality.

Looks like Nyoro came back in March (month after I made this thread) and did 4 more eps, bringing the original NG to 1-9 out of 38

I know this is thread necromancy but~ Lamune & 40 is one of my favorite series.

Hecto/Shinsen Gumi fansubbed VS way back in the day. I still have my tapes somewhere. Unfortunately NG was never finished.

I would love if these series and their OVAs were subbed. Love love love it.
