To be fair, battleships were consistently portrayed as healthy young adults in their early 20s

Thanks, but where's Missouri?

And there are 4 Iowa-Class battleships:
- Iowa
- Wisconsin
- New Jersey
- Missouri

Maryland was a Colorado-Class battleship, while Louisiana was a Connecticut-Class battleship.

When you consider the history of the actual ships, it makes sense to have them as onee-sans. Although, Iowa would only have turrets 1 and 3 in firing operation because she had an explosion in turret 2. The guns in that turret had never fired again since then.

that was pre WWII though, and since I doubt that we will see Thomahawk Missiles in this game before 2035, her KaiNi will probably still fire all turrets

No one even found out why it happened in the first place, so it might as well have been sabotage similar to Mutsu's case.
