Dengeki Daisy
I've been reading this manga for months and was wondering why I never saw a thread of the manga at the forums. After a few search functions I'm astounded not to find one, so I decided to make one. Heres a basic summary from Mangareader.
Quote:
Anyway just wanted to say that the latest scanlated chapter was intense and just as good as this manga has gotten recently.

Dengeki Daisy is definately one of the best shoujos ever, the art is simply beautiful (and the mangaka is man!).
At first when i read the summary before starting the manga i thought it was another shoujo full of cliches, but it mixes very good those moments of drama with comedy (especially Teru's scenes, Kurosaki get bold!) and it also makes you want to know more about Daisy and all the things related to Teru's brother (he really was hilarious) about chapter 41... Spoiler for 41:

Yeah chapter 26 is the most recently translated chapter I can find. It's been a slow process for this manga sadly.
Also, Kurosaki is GAR. This fact is not debatable.

everybody gets surprised when they find out that the author is a man
he is called Kyousuke Motomi and apart from Dengeki Daisy other manga he is also known for another shoujo: Beast Master it's really a shame that the translation is pretty slow for this manga, especially the lastest chapters which have revealed lots of things but hey at least we get some of the chapters the chapters (from 27 to 41) which aren't translated i read them from the summaries that some people make if you google it you will find it^^ (one of the pages i read from has raw downloads links so i don't know if i am allowed to post it)

A well written character? Either way i just don't like the term "GAR", so i don't use it.

I read several chapters of this quite a while back, but never really got interested in it and sort of stalled and then dropped it. It seems that just about everywhere I go though everyone seems to be giving this manga really high ratings. Based on what I've read it probably wouldn't even be in my top 50...
How many chapters would I need to read for it to win me over? ...or is this manga just extremely over-hyped? |

I'd say one of the best/finest male leads in a (shoujo) romance manga, probably even lonely at the top, because there aren't that many serious competitors for Kurosaki without awful (cliched and milked) flaws like being an abusive, cheating bad boy/jerk who's only way to show affection to the (in most cases) apathetic and weak female lead is to treat her badly/violently and molest her (willingly). Having read through what is available it really is an interesting read. It was unexpected to find it delving into the realm of guilt and the conscience - a teensy bit a 'la "Crime and Punishment". I haven't come across that in many manga....
