Dragon Ball Super [Anticipation]
Apparently, there will be a new Dragon Ball series to debut in Summer 2015. It will be an original story by Toriyama. The title is called Dragon Ball Super. Quote:

Why? WHY!? What more can Toriyama bring to the series 18 years after GT? He was fed up with it by the end of the Buu Saga and his newest movies have shown that the most innovative thing he's come up with in the past 20 or so years is to change the hair colour of Goku from black to red or yellow to blue.
I'm not saying my inner child isn't intrigued by the major inspiration of a whole 2 generations returning but progress has been made in storytelling in the anime/manga industry. We can't keep going back to DB again and again.

Dragon Ball manga had ended with Buu Saga and DB GT was anime only acr/filler season. Toriyama did not worked or even helped with this. If you want look for cannon material after DBZ Z that would Battle of the Gods and Fukkatsu no F.
Anyway.... |

DBZ was my entire world in like, 2000-2002, but I eventually grew out of it. Still, the little kid in me that was in love with DBZ can't help being curious. The movies were whatever--I've never taken them serious regardless of the anime--but an actual series? That's huge, and I'm excited.
So yes, all you people saying "it should die", I'm going to be a part of the problem. |

If you're tired of DBZ... don't watch it? It's not like anyone's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch.
That said, I'm approaching the series with cautious optimism. If Toriyama can recapture the storytelling he had up to the end of the Cell Games, then great. If it's as blech as the Buu Saga, then screw it. |
