Not much in terms of news, but I figured this was significant enough to post.
According to the article posted on Fuji TV's website for Monster Hunter Stories, the anime will be getting it's own time slot, rather inhabiting a previously already established show. What this means is for the first time in 10 years (since the One Piece slot change to Sunday mornings at 9:30AM), Fuji TV will open up a new day time slot for the series. Prior to this, outside of Toei Animation's time slot at 9AM on Sundays which has rotated through several shows since then, Fuji TV has not established any new animation projects on their day time slots. It should be noted they consider the 6AM to 7PM hours during the day, so the show could end up airing in the morning rather during the evening, but we'll see. Either way, this is very good news not only for Monster Hunter Stories, but that it opens up the possibility of Fuji TV opening up day time slots again in the future, provided this works out for them. It also makes sense why they would do it with Monster Hunter, of all series, because of how popular it is. |

Episode 1:
Based on the game, I think it was an alright start. Had quite a cartoony vibe to at first but I also get the adventurous feel from the episode. We got a fantasy setting, decent action, and they introduced the main characters into their world without wasting much time. The 3D style of the monsters didn't bother me much either. They can explore the story a lot more with the monsters but as this show is has 40+ episodes, there's plenty of time to explore that. Also, CR announced they will stream this: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-new...all-simulcasts
