Actually for me not really. I've seen the typical two childhood friends that are friends and eventually fall in love, but for this one, I didn't expect that. Most of the series revolved around Hoshino and Sanada, but not really a the relationship between Sanada and Misuzawa which would be beyond childhood friends (though of course there are scenes of jealousy and such; but even then I did not expect that ending)

Read, please. Also, yes, the one thing that really annoyed me about Shakugan no Shana was the annoying love triangle that never seemed to go anywhere. It made the show less enjoyable to watch with KugiRie squeaking URUSAI URUSAI URUSAI at every single moment.

Well if it wasn't the case of Yuji being cluelessness in 'Romantic" terms then the love triangle would have been solved easily, but atleast we still have season 3 to bring us more entertainment then what Season 2 brought... Also.... (URUSAI! URUSAI! URUSAI!!!)

Kaichou wa Maid Sama: A good romance anime where the main character is having issues knowing that she actually has feelings for a certain guy. Idk about the action in it, but it does involve alot of.... The main character becoming a Sadist.

Code Geass does have some romantic seems, but its mostly based on Mecha/Action/Comedy but the romance scenes still do apply (especially in R2)
