Hmm~ yes I think it would be better if each of the units had three barrels which could be targeted independently; for about 42 beams in total.

The actual appearance would be closer to Nu with Harute's GN Boosters and Raphael's Backpack.

As far as I know, Byakushiki's the only one that's had any significant power issues.

It can be argued that Silver Gospel's Beam Spam is more extreme than <<KotRT-012>>, and yet there was never any indication that Silver Gospel was running out of gas any time soon.

The closest thing I can quote from canon is

It might be canon inconsistencies again, but from what I can gather, BT can't really go dakka-spamming for extended amount of time, and has to conserve energy.

And that's only with ONE rifle and four bits.

This won't be a problem if you subscribe to [I.S. has battery] theory, in which a mobile armor is probably 70% battery and propulsion. But then you face this issue that charging it fully would take few hour...

Byakushiki is, to put it simply, SHIT

It's not until Tabane intervene that Byakushiki is considered passable, at best. Having overspecialized weapon doesn't help

Hmm~ it seems I'll have to take some liberties again.

IS Shield Energy would be separate rather than one and the same like in canon.

I'll have IS Energy as nigh limitless like True GN Drive.

Instead of Shield Energy I'll have Shield Capacity.

The shield recharges, and it will still have minimum protection while 'empty'.

This way; it's more like Halo.

There's more Beam Spam in Before Stratos; it's not limited to <<KotRT-012>>.

As far as IS Energy is concerned, well, I at least don't think it's nanomachines but that kind of thing is better left to the reader's imagination.

It's enough just to call the Core a Black Box.

Just be careful.

Fandoms are extremely averse to alternate machine, especially if it's better than I.S., even more if it's vastly better than I.S. (you can see where this is going).

If handled well though it can be acceptable, Stratos and Jak are prime examples.

Now that I read Zero's observation, I might just incorporate the secondary power source system for the Athena.

My fanon went like:

Core produce energy -> Stored in the battery -> Battery full -> Core stop -> Energy used -> back to step 1 -> repeat infinitum

It takes 10 minutes if the machine is not active.

Isn't mine a lot like that?

I guess the difference would be that mine starts recharging as soon as its not full.

This give, during leisure operation (as in outside combat) unlimited endurance

Hmm~ alright I think I have the energy cleared out.

Shield Capacity and Arms Capacity have separate gauges.

Both gauges regenerate when below a hundred percent.

The IS still has minimum protection, like life-support in space, even when the Shield Capacity is completely depleted.

Weapons, however, are completely unusable without enough of the Arms Gauge.

<<Ignition Boost>> draws energy from the Shield Capacity to create a 'veil' for the IS to 'sail' on; effectively doubling the instantaneous speed.

This can be used for as long as there's Shield Capacity to spare.

I'm just trying to work out an idea in my head. I don't know if this is goign to be more comedic or dramatic.

What if:
Charlotte Dunois (dressed as Charles)
Meets
Ume Shiraume (白梅梅)

...the latter...NOT knowing Charlotte's real gender?

I dunno, it could be a stupid slapstick comedy or a deep drama. I have no idea if either or neither will work.
