Okay, I feel sad for Lancer. Seeing him so angry after he was very happy when battling Saber really gets me. Kiritsugu, you cruel, cruel man

But I can't wait to see the reaction of LancerxSaber fans for this episode! They were many fanarts of them on pixiv, but now that this happens....

I also love Iri's pissed/annoyed face at Kiritsugu. Poor Saber, how unlucky you are to get Kiritsugu as your master.

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that if Gil was even serious at the start of the war he could have won immediately.

Sadly Gilgamesh will never change so his arrogance will always get the best of him.

"OMG LANCER DIED! YOU INHUMAN BEINGS!" I think this counts even for Fate/Zero...

Darkest episode yet. I completely forgotten how cruel Kiritsugu was mentioned to be, really shocking...

Kayneth was being a total dick to everybody this episode, but strangely I find myself feeling sorry for him quite a bit.

He gives up his pride and ambition for love, and it bites him in the ass. In another kind of series, he might have been given a hero's death. Fate/zero is that kind of story, however. Good episode.

No Rider or Waver? No thank you!

Honestly though, the episode was fine. But the talking and Kiritsugu's boring anti-hero stance real don't agree with me.

Come to think of it, you may be right!! But then again, I doubt the servants of those masters could not notice Maya/Emiya from that range. The reason Maya got a clear shot there is because Kayneth no longer possesses a servant.

...

You know Maiya is human, right?... With a human weapon, right?...

You know Masters have powerful servants defending them, right?...

You know that these two Masters Maiya sniped were defenseless, right?...

You know that it is NOT typically this easy for Maiya to go around sniping Masters, right?....

Reminds me of Kenny from South Park.

I don't see why Kiritsugu had to kill Kayneth though. I honestly couldn't see him as a threat anymore with the state that he was in. Though I feel better about Kiritsugu with his little speech at the end.

Under normal circumstances there's no chance that can work though. Servants would easily detect the bullet and stop it for instance and mages have spells to protect themselves.

It was only the circumstances from the first season and this episode that enabled such an action.

Just as planned by Kiritsugu really.

Yeah, it is the same for me. I hated when he was yelling at poor Lancer but then I felt sorry for him because of what Kiritsugu did.

Yeah, to me he's an ass and full of stuffy pride but because he gave it up in order to save Sola my stance towards him softened a little. I still hate him but didn't want him to die like that.

Just so to be sure everyone get the memo: it has been repeatedly stated no spoiler is allowed, tagged or not, being FZ -or- FSN.
Please use the appropriate threads for such kind of comments, and leave episode threads exempt of these. Leaving the thread closed for a while.

I was waiting for this episode since reading the Light Novel ...

Honestly, all Lancers in the Holy Grail War gets trolled.

And that is why i love Emiya Kiritsugu.

I loved the ending when Saber changed her tone and felt this .. however meager connection with Kiritsugu when she said of how his words depict one who had hoped for true justice once. Or maybe i'm thinking too much into that one sentence.

A decent episode ruined for me by an epic fail with respect to the "contract." Kiritsugu pledges not to harm Archibald and his fiancee, or intend them to come to harm, if Lancer is ordered to commit suicide. Immediately thereafter, Maya snipes them both.

Sorry, but since Kiritsugu knew of this in advance (if he didn't plan it himself) and allowed Maya to act after the contract was in effect, Kiritsugu at the very least intended harm to befall Archibald and his fiancee. Once the contract was in effect, Kiritsugu had an affirmative duty to protect them from any harm that he knew was going to occur, and he didn't.

Contract clearly violated, so what's going to happen to Kiritsugu now?
