I think this as the best episode by far.

Kohaku sure is a lot of fun and uses cool magic.

Hitomi does have quite a gift herself in that department.

To be fair it was Kohaku who suggested Hitomi should tell the truth about her origin. That's not something she would have done on her own.

Agree that Kohaku was exactly what this series needed. She brought a lot of life to it. I really liked that she immediately figured it it was Hitomi who unconsciously summoned the train yet made no excuses and took the blame for it. Coolest 17 year old grandma.

I'm also under the impression Hitomi knows who her grandfather is from the way she said "grandpa". And if that's the case, that means he isn't part of the cast or she would have had some sort of reaction when meeting the guys.

Well, it's probably not Yuito since he and Hitomi clearly have kismet. But how does that work, exactly? I mean, he asked the right question - "Is she going to go back sometime soon?"

All in all though, I think everyone's reaction to the whole time travel thing is way too blasé to be remotely believable.

Well, I do agree that pointedly showing us he has no plans for his future (other than "look for a job") was intended to show us he was a candidate to go back to the future.

I was concerned that adding Kohaku was going to overwhelm the tone of the story but she fits in just fine and will add some needed energy to a story that was coming close to being too laid back. Still I would have expected the cast to be a bit more shocked and/or skeptical after hearing the Hitomi was from the future.

I love how blase the faculty were about it. They're just so used to Kohaku's antics by now .

Considering magic is an established thing in this universe, to the point where it's a commodity people can find in a shop, I think something like time travel is seen as a little more plausible then it would be normally.

Plus, it would explain a lot about Hitomi's comments about how different things are, which probably helped sell the group on it.
