There is a good Wiki write-up about Maria-sama ga Miteru and Anime News
Network has synopsis for the 2 seasons in their Encylopedia.

(a google search of "Maria-sama ga miteru" will give you links to both)

Other than that, you're just going to have to find the time to sit down and watch the shows
Fansubs are still available of both seasons, along with the current run of OVAs.

As for the Fourth Season. Yata!

The website promotion certainly confirms more development in Yumi and Touko's relationship (Touko is a far more interesting Soeur candidate than Kanako).

No movies.

There are two TV series (13 eps each) and an OVA (5 eps) out now. There is another "season" announced, but we don't know yet if it will be a TV series, or an OAV.

Well, unlike at the end of Haru, they've actually aunnounced the 4th season already, so the wait can't be that long. Probably something around half a year, give or take? Depending on how far they've already moved things, but until they release some more information it's kind of hard to say.

According to scans from early sales of Animage September issue, the 4th Season will also be an OVA series.

This is the only photo I can find, and the magazine won't be officially out until the 10th, so I can't read the article itself, but will update with additional information, if any.

Not very good... Imho.
1st and 2nd TV series was the best ones.

On one hand, I liked how the TV series let them draw some of the stories out a little instead of having to wrap almost everything up in the episode, like the OVAs have done. But on the other, I thought the extended time of the OVAs let them tell the story they wanted to tell in any given episode better.

If they let some plot elements run throughout the 4th season instead of trying to wrap everything up in one episode, I think it'll be fine. They started to do that a bit anyways, with the Kanako stuff.

Shoot.. I was really hoping for a TV series! :/ guess I can't be too picky but the idea of having a full esason of Marimite to watch every single week was just too idealistic to me !

Somewhere in my mind hopes the "OVA" is written just because of there's no confirmation about to make it in TV or OVA. And so , they published in the current format.

Ugh.. Someone tell the animators and writers to PLEASE, PLEASE make it into TV series.. T___T

OVA is just when I started getting disappointed in this anime (except for the 1st OVA)

I guess, more likely, it WILL be an OVA format because how can they continue a TV series if the 3rd season was OVA, wouldn't it be weird for 4th season be TV series?

Huuu... T___T

Hmm... I'm not too sure about another OVA. I can see some advantages in the OVA format, but overall I really feel a TV series format is much more suited to the actual narrative of Marimite. The events are flowing and continuous in a 'slice-of-life' sort of way, and the OVA often felt anecdotal rather than telling an ongoing story. Maybe that's just me...
I also really hope the visual style of the first two seasons makes a comeback, but I doubt that'll happen. >_<

The OVA, for me, felt like there's no flow.. I mean there is, but the 'classic' flow in 1st and 2nd season has gone.. Also, it seemed everything was rushed..

I would prefer the old way, they take it slower but we see the detailed growth..

When I saw the 1st OVA, I thought.. "Great!!"

2nd OVA felt like nothing happened..

3rd OVA ending was a shocker.. Never could I believe what Sachiko did, and what she said in the greenhouse too.. I thought it was completely out of the manga and novel..

4th OVA was fine as well

5th OVA no idea, haven't watched it with the soft-sub.. T__T

TV series's animation, character build up and story flow was much better..
I feel, if this continues, I may leave my fandom for MariMite..

One way they can make it into a tv series is to do a recap of the ova in the first few episodes. A rushed and cut version of the ova. OVA 2-4 felt connected because there were a lot of bonding and character devlopment. Also many new characters being introduced. OVA 1 and 5 were good but it could be left out. Maybe just focus on the Kanako part of the story.

Haha, though I wonder how long will it take to make the 4th Season.. (-___-)

Are the creators of MariMite blind? They should hurry up and at the same time, improve their artworks.. (Though I like what they did in the 5th OVA, nothing unnecessary like silly flowery bg appearing)

Many animes have done parodies of this anime, which means it's FAMOUS.. n_n
Around 5 animes (w/c I know of) made a parody..

A problem with the OVA format is the many plots marimite have to follow. Look at the third season. 5 50 minute OVA's simply wasn't enough.
