Here's a picture of the whole Squad 7, minus the unlockable character...not sure if this is the right place to post, but I think it's a nice way to organize things. There is a lot more scout and shocktrooper than the others..probably due to the high risk of their jobs.

I'm sorry for the low quality. I only wrote over the original Japanese version. The five unlockable characters (Musaad Mayfield, Lynn, Knute Jung, Emile Bielert and Audrey Heitinga) are missing on it. There are less snipers and engineers because you don't need many of them in battle. You can clear most of the game while deploying only one sniper and engineer. Scouts and Stormtroopers see more of a use. Well.. for stormtroopers numbers is more so you get a choice between awesome ones (Lynn, Vyse, Jane,..) and the horrible ones (Dorothy, Mica, Kevin,..), whereas scouts are all at least good (except poor useless Susie). I had kind of a knack for choosing bad characters and had 3 of the very worst in my squad at one point or another. My thought process was kinda like this:
"I guess I'll use Susie since she was in the squad in the anime." "Wtf, she leveled and now can't take an action after killing someone? Bye Susie." "Mica looks pretty cool and reminds me of another character I like." "Possibility for gun to jam? Great." "I'm gonna use Herbert for no apparent reason." "Will occasionally ignore an order. /facepalm" |

And thanks don_Durandul for the english part, I can read Katakana text, but I'd probably spell their names wrong in English if I tried to do it. |

FYI: New DLC coming out in Winter, 2010, according to Kotaku:
http://kotaku.com/5354209/valkyria-c...expand-in-2010 It'll be the same DLC that's already out in Japan, just regionalized for us. (And I'll still turn the JP voices on anyway.) *Goes back to having Jane run around with "Sadist" activating.* Fun. (Come to think of it... Jane with "Sadist" and Homer with "Masochist" ... that should make for an interesting combo attack... lol) |

More edy? :/ I've yet to try any of the DLCs but why is Edy getting yet another mission pack? I've never even used her since she seemed so useless for a Shocktrooper. :S I'd be more compelled to buy a DLC that focused on some other characters like Wendy, Audrey, Melville or any of the other lot.

Words from the Director in this week's blog update :- 1. How Edy was suppose to look during the conception stage :- 2. Some behind-the-scene trivial about how the 2 Edy DLCs was developed simutaneously with the English Localisation of the 1st game. 3. Hint of at least one more DLC to come for the 1st game on the Japanese Side as the crew feel that they're not done with the PS3 yet. |
