Too kawaiiiiiiiii, with the chibi characters. Then funny with Neneko and the hand with Ren, then Neneko with the bras, then Ren looking at clouds and thinking, then erotic teacher being erotic, then Takeya realize he see no panties, and Takeya scream like little girl many times.

I have watched ep1 and I also felt as many people did that it reminds me alot of Chobits.

Good. I really liked Chobits. And the minicharacters at the end are indeed too kawaii.

But I liked that as well and I liked the music as well.

After watching 02, I got more feelings of déja vu (this time of Steel Angel Kurumi). This was a rather amusing episode, innuendo filled nonetheless. Neneko's a surprisingly lenient and open-minded girl. There's porno scattered around Takeya's bed along with clumps of tissue paper, and Neneko doesn't object. Ahh, if only real girls were that understanding. I wonder what kind of inimical plans does the DearS' have...world domination?...world destruction?...enslaving the world? Well something to the world. By the way, what does the old man watering his garden has to do with anything?

It's refreshing that Neneko doesn't act like the typical anime female who gets super-pissy at the male lead for being perverted and boots them to lower earth orbit, neither does she get all lovey-dovey jealous in the process.

Neneko even says that it could be a misunderstanding the first time Ren calls Takeya master. OMG, A CALM, RATIONAL ANIME FEMALE WHO ACTUALLY CONSIDERS THAT IT COULD HAVE ALL BEEN A MISUNDERSTANDING, IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!!

Well I read a little ahead in what's been translated of the manga and found it amusing. Even if some elements are 'borrowed' from past animes.

The characters are cute, which makes sense since it's from the same company which did Onegai Teacher and Twins...

Right now I'd say I like DearS a lot more than Onegai Twins, but not as much as Onegai Teacher.

I whole heartedly agree, the character of Neneko is the thing that keeps me intrigued to the series....we shall see about the other characters

Neneko is a necessary antidote to Ren and the Teacher. Ren is the ultimate submissive fantasy and the teacher is an utter slut. It's nice to see a girl in anime who is so rooted and sane. The difference between her and the others is really amusing, throwing their fetishes into harsh contrast.

I think I'm going to enjoy watching this series. It does seem a bit like Chobits, though I do like the way on how the plot is being created. Yet, I also find this Neneko character to be quite entertaining. One doesn't find many characters such as this for where ecchi is involved. Got to love that handshake & greeting though.

allthough i liked episode2 of dearS somewhat, i still like "girls bravo" more. don't really know why, but part of it must be the characters and the calm main character (ok, he's the standart loser type, but he doesn't freak out all the time which is something, that annoys me a little in dearS). i guess it's too early to decide which show will be better (i remember that i liked midori no hibi A LOT at the beginning, but the last episodes weren't as funny/interesting as the first ones and overall the series ended being mediocre imho) and nobody sais, that you can't watch both.

also i don't think, that censoring the nudity in girls bravo makes the series considerably worse, since i don't watch the show to see tits or other delicate parts of the human body. if i want to see those i can allways look for some doujinshis.

I was kind of ambivelent about the series when I first saw it, I thought some of the characters (especially the teacher) were a little too over the top. But the second episode improved my opinion of it somewhat.

I agree Neneko is a huge improvement over the usual "childhood friend who beats the hell out of the main character" theme that seems to be so popular (ala Girls Bravo). I am somewhat curious to see where they are heading with the plot behind this one. The whole "DearS are slaves" thing that seems to be going on indicates this series might get a little more serious as time goes by, but at the same time, the teacher, the kitty girl, and Rens current "eat everthing that doesnt move" would point to something much less serious. Guess will have to wait and see.

But I have to admit, the whole sequence of Rens use of master/slave to define her relationship, and the misunderstandings of what was going on by Neneko and the teacher had me cracking up. So, it may not be all that serious, but anything that can give a good laugh has some promise.

Hey the majority of the gags and theme of the show is ABOUT the nudity, the creators and writers PUT SEXUAL THEME IN IT because that was WHAT IT WAS ABOUT it what the show specifications says it is.

When you censor something that was meant to be the punchline and a theme, and in direct contridiction to what the show is about, of course it RUINS IT.

BUT I DON'T, and i have a pretty good idea alot of Anime otaku/fan's agree with me.

Mate, if you don't wanna see nudity, or gags of a adult nature don't watch ECCHI COMEDY animes then....

People watch Ecchi comedy animes because we expect the sexual overtone jokes, and we are absolutely comfortable with it.
And we appriciate the scenes of bouncing fun-fun squish-squish! ehehehe

Its the main reason Echhi comedy is so popular and good to watch.

Its for a certain audience, and if you don't like it, don't watch it.
You're old enough to realise that by now.

Well after seeing episode 1, I can only say what everyone else says : Chobits-rip-off. In fact the entire first episode is practically the same as the chobits one, I expected something different .

I'm giving it a bit longer but it's not looking good enough to waste my time on ...

it's not like i mind nuditiy in echi series, all i'm saying is, that it doesn't RUIN a show for me, just because i didn't see a pair of boobs. i still know, that she has boobs, even if covered by mist. and even if they deleted one particular scene, that isn't the end of the world. for me, something like this just doesn't kill a show. it's just not worth to get upset over.
