Never realized how much I missed the old cast. Just Madoka, Homura and Sayaka were enough to carry the entire episode this week

Man, this was actually good stuff.
It's pandering to the pmmm cast fans, but at least it's finally good pandering compared to s1.
And the animation also was actually pretty good. Way better than what was in s1e1 or holy mami.
Now I still have no idea what they'll do with it and if it'll be a worthwhile inclusion or not, but it does give me hope at least.

episode 1:

did not expect to see Madoka, Homu, and Sayaka all fighting together again. Sayaka is easily depressed, but after being motivated by Madoka, Sayaka is super strong. She was able to take advantage in using Homura time stop ability, and the three of them defeat the witch.

Yachiyo is so enraged on losing Iroha. She attack right away Miufyu, who only wanted to talk.

looks like there's hope now. They found Iroha with the Uwasa.

It's a shame no one else seems to be watching this here because as someone who had played the mobile game this show is based off of I can say with certainty. This part is where everything start to come together.

episode 3:

sweet, Yachiyo and Iroha reunited at last.

and the Doppel looks like it also want Iroha to be happy.. but it's not right to keep Iroha in the dream.

I am surprised there are so few comments on Magia Record on this forum. This season has certainly been an improvement over the first one. Lots of good plot developments with the highlight for me being episode 3. Getting an insight into Iroha's dream was good and they way it was directed was brilliant. The latest episode also throws a few things at us with the witch factory an doppels. Makes you wonder what the Magius are up to.

Special mention goes to the quality of animation which remains outstanding so far.

one major factor is because the number of people on the forum are on a state of decline. As I've shown there are plenty people talking about this anime on myanimelist.

episode 4:

sad what happened to Kaede. Overuse of doppel, leads to the mahou shoujo being absorbed into it.

Iroha want to be partners with Kuroe? Hmm, Yachiyo might get a bit jealous..

so far, the action and animation has been good. This is probably the only anime, besides LL Superstar that would be able to make me buy some stuffs this season.

Indeed I was very surprised by the level of animation in this latest episode's fight scene, that's not something you see often on anything that isn't a full animated movie.

I had a problem was that there was so many closeups and so fast, that it was tough to follow the action.

episode 5:

looks like Touka plans to feed Walpurgis Night to the Embryo Eve witch that Magius created. Things are becoming intense..

also hoping Kuroe surives. Her doppel with the black wings look like it can do some damage.

Okay, I guess they spent all their money/time for the previous episodes and they have nothing left. The amount of background shots replacing action scenes was quite jarring.

things are getting intense.

I wonder what Alina Gray is planning? Seems to be not really a bad person, because she saved Mifuyu.

Iroha opening the door for Yachiyo. And I'm surprised Yachiyo has a driver's license. lol

episode 7:

my respect for Mitama has went up with this episode. She is one of the more mysterious characters in season 1.. glad to finally know her real situation. Her work is traumatizing, it's surprising she has not gone insane yet.. glad that Momoko decide to reach out some kindness, and become a friend for her. It looks like realizing that she now has a real friend inspired Mitama to do good things.. hopefully, she can succesfully save Kaede.

damn, and Tsuruno looks like a zombie now.. ><

Season finale was a decent ending as we got a few sweet moments with Tsuruno and her friends helping her. Unexpectedly the biggest drama happened at the end of the episode with the shifting winds. What implications will that have for Madoka and by extension Homura? I am also wondering what Touka and Iroha will do once learning the truth. Overall I would say this season was a definitive imrpove over the first season although I wouldn't go so far as to call it a classic. 7-7.5 for me.

episode 8:

nice season finale.

with the uwasa on top of the hotel destroyed, Walpurgis Night and the other witches are no longer diverted to Kamihama. Disaster avoided for Kamihama residents.

interesting to learn about Tsuruno story.. glad that she got rescued.

the only sad thing is Kuroe not able to join the group.. hopefully, she can be rescued as well.

looking forward to season 3.
