For the Yozakura Quartet [Chihiro] DVD version, I can't get the subs to work.

For the Yozakura Quartet [Chihiro-Aone] DVD version, I can't get the Chihiro sub stream to work. The Aone subs display fine but the Chihiro subs do not. I'm using the latest, although rather old, CCCP pack (2008-09-21) with updated VSfilter 2.39

When I use a windows build of mplayer, it also does not display the Chihiro subs initially. But if I switch to the Aone stream and back to Chihiro, it then displays the subs.

This also happens to be the same with the [yibis] One Piece releases. I can't see the subs at all in CCCP, and neither in mplayer initially. But if I re-select the only available sub stream in mplayer, it then displays the subs.

I'd say it lies with the splitter, but apart from that I don't have any ideas.
But subtitles not showing up at all would seem related to them never getting to the renderer, and that's the splitter's job.

Thank you for the suggestion. I updated the splitter and still no luck

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is getting to the renderer because both streams are showing up on input pin of VSFilter when I select them in the splitter. Here is the pin info for the Chihiro stream:

I might try searching for some more hints at doom9... but it turns out that the latest win mplayer build http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?page=projects works by default, so at least I have an alternative solution now.

Well to update this in case others are having the same problem, it's resolved now.. not really sure how.

I had installed new versions of mkv spitter and vsflter, and registered them which didn't help. Then I installed a beta CCCP which didn't help. Then I reinstalled the original 2008-09-21 CCCP release, copied over the splitter.ax and dlls, and vsfilter.dll, regsvr32 them, which still didn't help.

But when I rebooted I got some errors from Windows saying that it couldn't find the registered filters. Then I noticed that they disappeared from CCCP subdirectory I copied them to. At this point I restored all of the original CCCP libs back, launched CCCP settings, "reset all settings" AND "re-register filters". .. and now everything works.
