The one with the long dark brown hair in the back of the kitchen is voiced by Asumi Kana, the one in the front who complains about Chika is voiced by Itou Kanae. Both big sisters I assume.

Oh my God. They did it. They really did it. I'm not surprised at all at this achievement, but they did it. That was such a solid introduction to these girls. They They showed enough of everyone without it being too overbearing. Speaking of girls, these girls are so weird. A lot of them have their own quirks, which are fun to watch. I'm lookin at you, Yoshik- I mean Yohane. I've never seen anyone make scissors with their hand like that. They didn't shy away from the OG Love Live's influence on Chika. It's just enough of a reference and callback to the original series while still being its own show. It's definitely way better this way.

So Kanan is staying at home to work instead of going to school. That's really interesting. And the way the angle played out when Chika mentioned school idols to her was interesting, too. I wonder what she thinks about it; Kanan's obviously keeping something from her. And I wonder if she's had any encounter or interaction with Mari or her family. And I dunno if Riko's putting on a front, but there's no way she's never heard of school idols if she went to the school that birthed the best school idol group in the game.

Oh, right! There was so much to talk about I forgot that part. How the hell do you attend Otonokizaka without at least hearing about Muse? Did Arisa and Yukiho fail miserably at their duty?

yeah and sunshine seem to be happening a little while after s2 ? (we see "second LL winner" at the beginning ) and at that time literally the whole school was rooting for them.

I heard it takes place a few years after the original, so the time gap might kill some of the hype. Still, how?

Well it was alright.

I mean it's honestly a massive challenge to try and replace the original cast with a new one that doesn't feel too weak. And it mostly pulls that off.

It's somewhat tough and have to give the new cast a break since they haven't had entire seasons to develop.

They just haven't made much of an impression so far. The new lead is a decent enough Honoka 2.0, not quite as much impact in her introduction but she should be fine.

It was ok. Hopefully they can make the group coming together go quickly. So far so good.

Okay. Riko is her own kind of weird, eh. Didn't expect that from her.

So. Solid first episode, although it was so chokeful of everything that even smooth transitions kinda felt disjointed. Start

ash always gets me on the verge of tears, so damn you, Lantis and Sunrise for doing it to me. I want more cameos from Muse, but it's not their show.

3D has definitely improved since first season, so it was kinda jarring to see ED's animation. Not bad, but it wasn't that good either. Giving every girl their own introductory music was a good touch. But... did they go with seal sounds for Mari? Really?

Yohane sure got a lot of love from Sunrise, and I'm definitely not complaining. Still waiting for something catchy from Maru, and I really hope she won't get the same treatment as Rin.

I also didn't watch the first series and this worked just fine for me - it's a separated story.

Will be good, apart from small references and cameo we shouldnt see a lot from the first group anyway. You'll follow just fine.

Just going to say. Chika already introduced herself well enough to deviate herself from Honoka. I'm actually really impressed they pulled it off as well as they did.

First off: you SHOULD watch the original series.

Second: you don't have to watch the original series. The only thing that ties Sunshine to the original is that the main character is inspired by the original school idol group and wants to make her own group. Everything else is new and its own entity.

Best part of the episode? Hearing Start: Dash again! Otherwise, a decent episode. I like the pace of the second half more than the first for sure, I guess i prefer the normal pace over the craziness of the beginning.

So far i am really liking the Hanamaru/Yohane and the Chika/Riko interactons.

It's her being a sheltered girl. This kind of happened with Maki sometimes, but Riko's case is already way more extravagant.

As everyone else said, you'll be fine. I caught up with the original a couple months ago, but this is clearly its own show, you'll only miss a couple references.

True, in hindsight. It actually helps Chika is not interested in saving the school. Also, she's way more prone to intentional silliness. Chika is Chika, and that's it. Then again, maybe Honoka should have called Kotori a miracle more often, but that's just me.
