Any decent villain would need a dedicated movie. You can't spend half the film with Clark as a teenager and still have time to develop a proper villain.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

0:49 Is that one of the Reapers I remember from Mass Effect?
They're really playing up the sci-fi elements of the Superman mythos. Probably a good call.

In any event, that was another excellent trailer.

Agreed. It makes me wonder if they're going to put Apocalypse as a villain in the upcoming reboot set of X-Men films. That would be awesome, as Apocalypse deserves to hit the big screen.

I'm always going to Wonder if Nolan's Batman and this Superman could exist in the same universe. Well, I haven't seen Man of Steel yet, but if it's really good I'll even wonder about that question more. I don't think we need these guys to be in the same universe, but I think it would be cool to have a Batman/Superman movie. I think the idea is much more plausible than a JLA film at least. Having them work together and making it believable would be the hard part.

Can we at least get a Wonder Woman movie...please?

Well Brad Pitt is almost 50, so that wouldn't work anyways. If he was 25, it might have been a different story as he was an up and coming star to that point. I get what you are saying though.

Well, here's a question for people, given the direction this thread has went in - If another DC Superhero was to make a cameo appearance in this movie, who would you want it to be? It could be a good way to raise a DC Superhero's profile before giving him/her a movie of his/her own.

Cheers.

He is expanding the franchise and hiring employees, but Bruce is still Bruce. The guy is a workaholic, he would never retire.

I was more talking about Nolanverse, which is what I assumed they'd be using if ever there was a cross-over.

Nah, they can't even if they wanted to. Nolan created his trilogy assuming there was no other superheroes. At the very least, any JL friendly Batman would have to be re-written from the Nolan version.

Assuming Batman is the "first" Superhero, they could still off-shoot from the Dark Knight trilogy.

Man, this movie is seriously shaping up to be the best superhero movie in a long time.

Anyways, if they do a Superman/Batman crossover with the Nolan Batman, it could work if Batman is old (ie, the Batman trilogy takes place like 10-15 years before Man of Steel) and Joseph Levit Gordon is playing Batman from Batman Beyond, then Bruce gets reintroduced after the new Batman is disabled/killed.

Ehhh...personally I would love it if Nolan's Batman was involved if they did a Batman/Superman thing, but not post DKR as I just think that would have a hard time making sense...and I really don't want to see Bale as an old fogy like he essentially was in the last film. The only time I can see that kind of team up taking place would be the one year gap between Begins and TDK. Even then it wouldn't make much sense. I would love it, but I don't think it's plausible.

Probably would be best to just reboot Batman and involve him with this new Superman if they wanted to go that route. That being said, I don't have much faith in DC trying to do what Marvel has done recently...so I wouldn't mind if Man of Steel was just stand alone.

I'm currently listening to the soundtrack now that it is out. For the Hans Zimmer fan I am, this is a delight especially since it matches what I expected from a collaboration with Christopher Nolan.
