Isn't it better not to have the scar at all?
Either way... I think I play too much Sword girls..... (Currently working on original fantasy story.... because I just discover that I really like Paladin (RPG) kind of character....) Edit: They struggle about doing the right thing.... which is the closest to what we have for most good guys in real life.

I'm just tired of the whole "Scarred badass" thing that seems to being going around for child soldiers. Seriously, you want to keep a civilian identity and be inconspicuous while your back has a jigsaw puzzle? Only other way to avoid this is say he never got scarred, which would look even more odd since he's a kid soldier who runs around in vents.

All the scar they get are indeed from harsh environment of the battlefield, and definitely not to the level of jigsaw puzzle on their back. few small scar is hardly new, even Sousuke had it didn't he?

Well, the IS world is pretty advanced. I just want tinsubvert the epic scarring scene when he has to take off his shirt and they find he actually looks normal. Lampshaded by him afterwards when he asks if they were expecting him to some mind of scarred victim.
If I do make the skull suit semi organic, what changes would I have to add?

^ What Box said
They're not exactly organic like Venom, but they can work along with the wearer's body as if they're muscle and blood. Also the reason one-size-fits-all, they can adapt to the wearer.

Nope, that's why I said it's not really organic that way. When you took it off, it'll look like some kind of thick rubber with some composite armor plates (the one you said protecting agaisnt energy weapon).
But when worn, it'll form some kind of artificial muscle, which do not really enhance muscle strength, instead helping the body to cope with more strain so he can release his full potential. However, since it's only protect against outer damage, Irish' joint and internal organ will receive some damage, and that damage will still accumulating even though the suit boosted his healing function. Well, that's as far as I knew from your suit's description. Going to sleep

Try asking yourself that.
Depending on the needs.... if that person is really that desperate enough, he would wear it in spite of the drawback. Godzilla Threshold is an extreme example of how far people would go when they are desperate.

Well what Age said, also, since scar INSIDE piling up, guaranteed that there's reduction in total lifespan unless quickly treated. This is based on how Football athlete life shorter than even soldier, who got prolonged lifespan due to healthy body. Football athlete is no stranger to internal scar, even in their HEART!
Going to school.
