I think the mangaka changed his style because previous accusations that he made a corrupted version of the anime/novel....

manga's pacing is definitely too fast.

Yeah, the manga is really, really badly done.

Vertical licensed Shinsekai Yori. Not the novel as people have been requesting, but the manga.

Oh God noooooo, they must be trying to use this as a litmus test for considering the novels but this is a terrible litmus test. I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to even buy this trashy thing.

Lol I said the same thing on the ANN boards.

But vertical disappointing me is not really a surprise.

....ouch.

*facepalm forever*

If they're trying to test the waters for the novel with the manga it's the stupidest idea I've heard this month (okay, add February as well). :/

So there's still hope the novel will follow regardless of the manga.

Hopefully they won't assume that those who buy the manga will buy the novel and vice versa. :/ The manga is pretty much false advertising for the novel.

Well, hopefully I misunderstood them, but Vertical claims (on their Twitter) the manga is closer to the novels. Maybe this is their reasoning for using the manga as a test audience, even though I heard it is completely different.

I hope you misunderstood too, cause I don't want to think the folks at Vertical are delusional. Then again, they can't exactly tell the terrible truth either...

I finally found the tweet, and uh, is it just me or is it really an attempt at misleading people? I guess they're trying to drum up interest in the manga, now that the anime has ended, but for crying out loud...

Yes, the manga follows the novels more closely! except for the part where it doesn't, at all......

Can you post the tweet here. I would like to silently rage at it since I can't reply back to them since my twitter account is locked.

Personally Vertical makes me rage a lot but for different reasons.

Here's the conversation.

I find it especially ironic that it's started with the screencaps of Saki & Satoru, known in the manga as "Shun's #1 Fangirl (And Part-Time Lesbian)" and "Satoru? Who Is That?"

I'd love to tweet them to ask for some, ahem, clarification, but alas my Twitter account is also locked.

I know it's hard to sell the manga when it's... like that but oh come on, that's just outright lying.

I'm trying to think of how to reply to that tweet and ask for clarification without letting my obvious bias against the manga show.

Honestly, they should just tell it how it is. People will buy it if they just say "Sorry, this is nothing like the source novels or the anime, but hey R-18 yuri action come and get it!"

I just replied with a question that I think isn't offensive or biased, so hopefully we'll see.

Seriously - I think more people would buy it if they just advertised it for what it is. Who wants navel-gazing when you can have hot two girl action?

I'm curious how they'll respond... (if they respond at all!)
