Hrm...I guess it wouldn't hurt to spoil chapter 4 a bit...haven't read through it closely, though.

Spoiler for chapter 4:

-Haruka is attacked.
-More of the old cast make appearances.
-Body checkup (the school type). There's a interesting mark on Mayo's left breast (which Shion stares at )
-Most importantly, there's a group known as the Suzaku-kai (Suzaku Group), which was the most influential at Fuuka until Shizuru broke them up 2 years ago. It is hinted that they are the antagonists of sorts, and they appear to be making a comeback.
-Tomoe is a Suzaku-kai leader...

Chapter 5 was recently released and a Drama CD will be out with a special edition of Zwei 4. Destiny is one novel with multiple chapters.

Well, the newest chapter has only just barely started with the heavy-duty stuff, with the Suzaku-kai, Tomoe, and all those funky things (but then every chapter has had some classic moments too). Unless response is poor, which doesn't seem to be the case, I'd like to think that Destiny will still run for at least 5 more chapters...perhaps those more in the know about this can answer you better.

I think we're all in the dark about that one. Most writers never tell us how long they're gonna run their work.

Indeed, but if it's popular the magazine might think it's worth letting it run to at least a benchmark chapter, which is usually by reaching double digits.

Just a thought of mine.

They should call it not Mai hime destiny,but Mai-Miko!!!
I was hoping that it will be the second part of Mai hime,but it isn't =( Well destiny isn't bad,but I want second season of Mai hime,but not another anime with the same charactors and different stories =(

Which brings us to the eternal question of how to pull off a "real" sequel to Mai-HiME, from a storytelling point of view, while not cheapening the impact of the original.

And I agree that Mai-MiKO is a more logical name, although it seems that they want to include "HiME" into all Mai franchise titles (like Mai-Otome is actually Mai-乙HiME).

I think it would be more interesting if they made new anime with new characters,but didn't use the same because it disturbs! You remember one character,but than you see him in another anime with another story line!I think it is really ridicullus! I think that Sunrise coul get more monye if he really made a sequel for REAL MAI_HIME,but not to another stories!
If I didn't watch Mai hime I think I would like Mai hime destiny,but as I know wat happend in Mai Hime I don't think that I will like any of other stories with the same charactors =(
And Mai hime destiny reminds me X-men! =(

SUNRISE PLEASE MAKE A REALL SEQUEL FOR MAI HIME!!!!!!!!!

As Sikon said, it's kinda hard to make a direct sequel when there's not much to be left with the story.

Well they could make something like it was in a fake trailer =P Or like in a one fics,where they could get their powers back =P
But I think you agree with me that making something like parodies isn't very interesting to watch,because all charactor stories are changed!

It's not really a parody, but more or less a retelling with a few alterations, but honestly, any Mai series is better than no Mai series for me.
