well, I'll be trying out every ep1 anyway. However in regards to things interested....

SoniAni and Makikunin, just because of the studio behind them and their potential to surprise. Will watch the sequels of the shows I enjoyed (Silver Spoon, SYD)

Probably just Noragami and D-Flag for me. I may check out some other stuff, but I'm still getting through my fall backlog and nothing is really grabbing me here.

Yeah, I give up on Sailor Moon. Was gonna wait till it was officially announced, but it is all but dead to me now....

Nisekoi - undisputed #1 most wanted show for me.

Nobunaga the Fool - this is high up because it's a mecha series done by Satelight, which I always seem to enjoy enough to finish the entire series.

ImoCho - stepsister vs childhood friend. Of course I'm watching this, even though the title already contains 'imouto' (yeah, the titular character usually has near 100% win rate in adaptations so... XD)

Mahou Sensou - which brings me to this one, of which isn't too promising either since the magical one is the new girl and not the childhood friend. Oh well, main guy is pretend dating her, so I'll watch it just for that

Mikakunin de Shinkoukei - I have a soft spot for arranged marriages, so this one is pretty high up. Only problem is it is adapted from 4-koma, which has a bad track record with me

Nourin - first impression I have is that this is Silver Spoon meets AKB0048, which is weird to say the least, but its stellar cast lands it high on my list.

Witchcraft Works - Kayano Ai + Seto Asami may be enough for me, as damsel in distress (or the reverse of) don't appeal to me.

D-Frag - comedy series are usually misses for me, but the hits usually are spot on. I hope this is the latter

Buddy Complex - this was higher, but upon seeing the pre-air it was brought down a notch. Then again, I thought RDG was terrible with the pre-air, but it became one of my favourites in 2013.

Hamatora - sounds kinda like DRRRR where everyone is connected to everyone, so I'll check it out

Norigami - BONES is high up in my studio list, so I'll check this out even though shonen ain't my thing

Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta - I haven't seen The Princess and the Pilot yet, so why not start with the prequel?

Onee-chan ga Kita - why ImoCho so high up but not this one? Pretty obvious why lol, but this being more obsessive lands a spot in this list.

Maken-Ki 2 - another anomaly considering Nisekoi and this are pretty much harem shows dominated by osananajimi heroines, yet one is at the top and this one is at the bottom. I truly WANTED to like Maken-Ki 1 but I just cant because the fanservice is way too much and isn't to my tastes. XD

Tonari no Seki-kun - the only short I'm looking forward to (or ever lol), as I've heard high praises of it

Happy New Year!

I've been growing impatient with excitement for over a week waiting for the new season to start due that finished earlier seven out of the eight shows I picked-up for the season that has currently ended, and, once again, I feel grateful that the season starting the new year is bringing interesting stories.

Magic, fantasy, and more ....
1. Mahou Sensou. What little knowledge that I have on this title is an adaptation of a light novel that goes with the same name. Not original and likely clichéd, but I'm gladly sold well on action, fantasy stories. Moreso, because the male cast sports an ensemble of great actors: Mamoru Miyano, Kenichi Suzumura, and Jun Fukuyama. Hope it becomes a solid hit.

2. Sekai Seifuku ~Boryaku no Zvezda~. Some hype has been building up for this show. Nonetheless, while I think there have been in the past anime focused on the antagonists as principal characters this will be my first time watching a type of title like this one.

3. Wizard Barristers Benmashi Cecil. Reading the premise, I presume the approach on magic on this one is more grown-up than the one in Mahou Sensou, yet it could turn out to be quite fun the ride.

Waiting for horror
4. Pupa. Waited for this one show the previous season that ended, but it did not materialize. Can't blame the studio, given the many comments I read about the source manga material being highly grotesque with the visceral gore. I just hope they won't put it in hiatus this season.

To the future
5. Nobunaga the Fool. Coming from Shoji Kawamori I simply cannot say "no" to this one show.

6. Neppuu Kairiku Bushi Road.

I just saw a promo on Tonari no Seki-kun by Hana Kana on Koebana show. Looks pretty 'funny', if not for that, I wouldn't have thought of watching it.

I think Winter 2014 is going to have my largest anime watch list in a long time.

First the leftovers from the Fall season:

Log Horizon
Nagi no Asakura (plan to marathon when it's done)
Strike the Blood (recently started watching)
Tokyo Ravens (recently started watching)

Winter season watching for sure list:

Chuunibyou Ren - I'll enjoy it as long as there's no cheesy love story.
Saki Zenkoku-hen
Seitokai Yakuindomo - more Suzu is always good.
Maken-ki! Two - this is actually a maybe, didn't enjoy S1 much.

Winter season anime I"ll be checking out list:

D-Frag!
Mahou Sensou
Mikakunin de Shinkoukei
Nisekoi
Nobunaga the Fool
Noragami
Nourin
Romantica Clock
Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga
Sakura Trick
SoniAni
Sugar*Soldier
Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta
Wake Up, Girls!
Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil
Z/X IGNITION

Winter 2014 hasn't been kind of weak so far Aside from Space Dandy there hasn't been any episode that really made me think this could be AOTS, compared to at least 6 or 7 shows that started airing last season that gave me that impression (even if a lot of them didn't pan out). Production values in general seem much lower too.

Still holding out on Wizard Banisters and Sekai Seifuku: Boryaku no Zuvuizuda though.
