I love it. The mecha-team posing in front of a cityscape really give off the Gundam Wing-vibe. And the head of the hero-Jaeger resembles the GM Custom a lot.

Also, don't they know that saying "kaiju monster" is redundant? Going with "giant kaiju" is a lot better.

Well, technically Kaiju(u) means "Strange Beast" so I don't think it's redundant.

The opening face gimmick and name of that Raijin fellow suggest that it's a variant of Raiju. I hope it can do some lightning attacks this time.

I'm underwhelmed. Music choices aside, it looks very predictable and it feels like its missing something from the first movie. It's more Transformers or Power Rangers, and less Eva or Godzilla. I almost expected them to turn into one giant robot at the end of the trailer.

...It's either that or some movie exec watched Independence Day: Resurgence and decided Pacific Rim should get the same treatment.


And either humanity is not as united as it once was (which could probably be blamed on the temporary disappearance of the Kaiju threat and its role as a species-unifying factor) and Jaegers are now routinely used in human conflicts against humans, or the Kaiju creators managed to replicate Gypsy Danger's tech and sent some of their new non-organic creations alongside their organic ones to weaken human forces further.
