Most *rare* anime you've ever seen?

I was under the impression Bubblegum Crisis was a very well known anime, not rare at all. Is that a particular OVA that's rare for some reason?

Hmm... I don't know for sure about the rarity, but I think it would be Shinzo/Mushrambo. Seen that on local television here.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (having the manga in mind). I shouldn't be surprised since the first thing people will think of when they hear Jojo is "you mean the one with the steamroller?".

I have yet to meet someone who actually read the damn thing.

Probably Mermaid's Forest. The only place I've ever seen it discussed was when someone recommended it to me on these forums years ago. It's a great series though, very good at use of atmosphere and mood.

Shin Hakkenden - Quite awesome, but people condemned it's quality. Made back in '97.

Magical Do Re Mi - I don't know if this is rare or not but bawww. ;;
Adventures of Conan - A very very very old show, Nipon Animation's first anime.
Flonaa/Flona/Flonnea/Whatever - It's really old. My mom watched it when she was a kid, and I watched it later on.
Bedaman - I found this one quite annoying.
Happy Lesson - I don't know if this is rare, either.

Ah, that one... never saw the "nobody's girl", but I saw the original "nobody's boy" on my local television here . The "girl" one was a new adaptation of the "boy". Both are very rare indeed.

There are a few people on this forum who've read the manga. Just search for Steel Ball Run or Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and you'll find them.

Not sure whether to call it rare, but I think its great and the only time I seem to be talking about it with others is when someone asks about that anime on SciFi in the 90's with magical plants and a girl with silver hair in the desert, but hey, it made it over to the US, can't be that rare.

Off the top of my head there's Hitohira. I don't remember a single thread about it even during its broadcast. It's a shame, really, because this is one of the sweeter school-life anime out there.

most of serious anime tend to dont have cute character in them
