Was thinking the other day that it was just about time for the next PreCure series to be announced. ^^
Will be interesting to see if they will expand the franchise a bit like they did in the first half of Mahoutsukai.... http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/dail...-filed/.108036

I do hope that despite the name, that they don't go overboard with giving the girls confectionery decoration like the did with Miracle and Magical's Topaz forms
I imagine they'll go with more traditional sweets like Eclair, Chiffon, etc.

I had been wondering if it would be simpler things like Cure Sugar, Cure Frosting and Cure Sprinkles ... but actual desserts sounds more likely in comparison, come to think of it.

I've never watched a Precure series before. Think I'll start with this one. I'll probably go back and watch every Precure there is, though it might take a while since there's around 600 episodes presently.

I myself believe "Go! Princess PreCure" to be very good, while most of the other series are mediocre to "enjoyable, but flawed". The original and its sequel, Max Heart, are rather standard and average. For example, I greatly enjoyed Smile, but it has its problems. As stated before, I must have much more information before I buy into this. I'm going to watch, but it just feels...wrong, too "kiddy".

Opinions can vary wildly about what the best Precure series are. For instance, I greatly enjoyed Suite Precure, while I consider Smile to have been extremely generic and ultimately a waste of potential. Heartcatch Precure is probably the most well-liked across the board, but even there you still won't find universal agreement among the Precure fanbase.
Personally, when I was getting started on the franchise, I looked up all of the series on TVTropes (particularly the YMMV pages) to see some of the details about each series and what people had thought of it, and chose to start with one that seemed likely to suit my tastes.

The TVTropes idea is actually a very good idea. Just watch out for spoilers, if you care about them.
And yeah, Heartcatch is the one that tends to get the most praise. *sigh*...Smile was a whole lot of wasted potential. I just found it to be so fun to watch. Eh.

For myself yes - join me to those who think Heartcatch is the one I enjoyed the most. Though to be fair there is really no PreCure series I did not enjoy, just think some are better than others....
As for Kirakira, I remember around this time last year when we first got word of Mahoutsukai being the next series to air and how it seemed longer than expected before the first visuals, staff announcements and previews showed up. Hopefully that will not be the case with this series. I am kinda curious what the studio is going to do with this one....

A teensy, tiny update about the series: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...r-2017/.109239
But from which we can gather that the series seems like it is going to specifically focus on food prep. The website apparently tease a promo slogan of "Make food! Eat! Fight!" So it is very possible that the pursuits of the PreCure will be centered around cooking, and probably even Pâtissières. Anyone else remember the Yumeiro Pâtissière series back in 2009-10? At the moment I have that combined with PreCure themes in my mind.

Until I see some more solid reference material, this all still sounds like a big, steaming pile of...bread dough. All we have so far is a catchphrase which implies that either the Cures throw food at the enemy or stuff them until they explode.
If they can't mold it into something good, then it'll be mighty painful to experience.
