I thought this week's episode was the weakest so far. It was fun to see Aoi imagine that Hinata would make fun of her for not drinking her coffee black though, only to find out Hinata had been using milk for her own coffee all along. Aoi is well too self conscious sometimes.

I like coffee just fine, but not black. I always add one sugar. Never understood why drinking black coffee is considered "adult". Is it just an anime trope, or do the Japanese actually believe that?
Tea actually strikes me as a more adult drink.

I was underwhelmed when I saw the title of the episode, but it was better than I expected. At least there were mountains involved. And I have some coffee-loving friends who would appreciate some of the gags.
(I am very much a tea drinker myself. Oolong is my favorite.) |

The present study tests the hypothesis that genetic variations in the newly discovered TAS2R38 taste gene as well as cultural differences are associated with differences in sensitivity to the bitter taste of propylthiouracil (PROP) and preferences for sucrose and sweet-tasting foods and beverages in children and adults.
Of course, I am no scientist (nor I play one on TV), so YMMV. To this day I drink my coffee with milk. |

Exactly! Tea, I'm a bit more OK with, but then only certain kinds. But when you're a kid and you see all of the adults drinking it you can't help but want to try it. Once I finally did, I couldn't stand the stuff, and still can't. My sister's liked it since she was a kid though.

Saturday was Japan's National Mountain Day. Did anyone else go mountain climbing in solidarity? My friend and I went up to Saddle Peak, overlooking Malibu.
This week's episode has a cliffhanger, with Hinata finding a new mountain for them to try and Honoka calling Aoi on the phone. We'll have to see if they follow up on those next week. |

That was a nice two parter. I didn't get why Aoi didn't want to go to the onsen but I guess the reason is something I've forgotten from previous seasons. I vaguely remember her not being used to being naked around others, but maybe I'm confusing with another show.
Not sure what to think of the jealous Hinata subplot. We'll see where it goes.

I think Hinata is a bit like Megumi in A Place Farther Than the Universe. She's used to Aoi following along and doing whatever she says, and now Aoi has plans and ideas of her own.
And yes, Aoi is shy about getting naked in front of other people. |
