So mountain out of a molehill. Thought it sounded off! On Polls... I always take any poll with a grain of salt, since most are used to support a argument, rather than find out a facts. Always be suspicious of any that don't seem to explain there sources or have there date presented in a very odd way especially through.

The applause is quite quiet so far. How many people are even there?

This didn't really felt like an inauguration speech, more like an election campaign speech.

They showed comparisons between aerial photos of the 2009 inauguration versus the 2017 inauguration. The turnout today did not even match half of the turnout from 8 years ago. I can't wait to see the official numbers.

Watching that "inauguration" sounds watching Richard, Duke of Gloucester ascending to the throne of England, Ian McKellen style (watch 5:35 onwards).

edit: http://imgur.com/a/SK6zr

Whatever the official turnout number will be, that's not even close for comparison. It would be generous if that number is 1/3 compared to 2009.

Considering the Trump transition team continued to act like they were a campaign after the election ended, and he already has a slogan for 2020's election (though we'll see how long it lasts, since it might run afoul of a movie's rights), he probably IS still in campaign mode. And probably will remain in it as long as possible.

Man, he is the best President, the smartest and the most popular ever.

I know that it is a black day for millions of people, but the pic above made me a little bit happy.

Crowd control of today had 250k people, 2013 it was one million and 2009 it was 1,8 million people. Really not that much.

Looks to me like a classic case of policy change and WIP tbh.

Was a bit amused at Trump's inauguration speeches. It was just so....lame. Just his usual shallow small talk with no preparation whatsoever.

He could have had someone write an awesome speech with flowery and philosophical language....but when you think about it, that would sound incredibly fake and pretentious coming out of Trump's mouth. From the likes of Obama, that kind of speech works, but I can't imagine Trump speaking that way. It was probably better for him to just be himself.

Low turnout is expected, it's in DC where almost nobody voted for him, all the top-tier entertainers refused to perform at his event lol... and thanks to Breitbart....I think Trump supporters may be paranoid about violent protesters.

Considering the violent protesters were out in full force today, I'd say there was some cause for concern.

This went slightly under the radar, but white nationalist Richard Spencer got literally punched in the face out of nowhere today during a live ABC interview.

https://twitter.com/oliverdarcy/stat...91025982148610

It sure had the "RKO outta nowhere" vibe for sure.

edit:

Quote:
Spencer advocates for a white homeland for a "dispossessed white race" and calls for "peaceful ethnic cleansing" to halt the "deconstruction" of European culture
Spencer had it coming. He can take 10, 50 or even 1,000 punches in the face for preaching that kind of crap, but it would never be enough.

I want every Trump supporter to start holding him accountable for the same things he railed against during his campaign. He railed against the corruption, but picks Goldman Sachs CEO for treasury secretary? His labor secretary pick is anti-labor? His education secretary pick is anti-Public Education? He outsources his own damn jobs when he says he's bringing back jobs to the country? Working for the people when he wants to put the Reagan tax cuts for the rich into overdrive? A white nationalist for Attorney General? Go right ahead and do apologetics for him if shit starts going south; that's your bed you're making, not ours

@Akuma Kousaka

haven't you never heard about double standards? Specially if he delivers on the code word "great" that really means "wasp". Also get used to hear every time statistics point how the economy, inflation, jobs, etc. go bad, Trump will flat out deny them arguing that polls when we was a candidate were wrong. He will gaslight his followers into thinking that everything is ok and before someone points out how few people went to his inauguration, remember how the bolsheviks were a minority but they were more violent than the mensheviks and prevailed for decades in the USSR.

Trump would have people believe his is the new Lincoln when he is closer to Berlusconi or Hugo Chavez.

Implying Trump supporters are the violent ones.

There are violent protesters on both sides, it's flat out stupid to believe that only the others do. They are minorities but they unfortunately are those that make the head lines.

The real problem is not that they exist, security can deal with them as they do with others, but that behaviour that would have been scrutinized by your own side years ago is becoming more and more accepted. Worse it is actually encouraged by those in power.

Violence on both sides exist, but besides the Tea Party(mundane by the standards of this inauguration day) there has been barely any group violence from the right. Individual incidents, but nothing as nearly large scale as this.

Calling them minorities is a laugh considering a large portion of them were privileged white college kids. The real violent ones were wearing hoodies and masks so hard to say who they were.

Their existence becomes a problem when innocent passerby's are left bloodied and bruised. Not to mention all of the destruction of property and arson that was allowed to happen because there was too many for law enforcement to deal with in a timely manner.

There is no evidence to prove that the people in support of Trump is the side of violence when video evidence tells a different tale. "Troll" isn't that what we were calling people who spread false information to meet an agenda?

There can be arguments made against punching Neo Nazis, and yes it should be addressed.

but make not mistake, punching a Neo Nazi does not make you as bad as them. Enough of both sides false dichotomy.

because they're Neo Nazi, and you'd have to be truly horrendous to equal that.
