For example, in the previous episode we learned about Dorothy's real name, her father, and more about her background/upbringing. We didn't learn anything more about the Duke of Normandy or get the Princess closer to the throne, but we got something important out of it still. What was the purpose of this laundry episode? Did we learn anything more about Ange? Chise? Dorothy? The Princess? Beatrice? |

Speaking as a professional Quality Assurance Manager, I'm just amused whenever my day-job life shows up in the anime world.
But then, the Japanese came up with a lot of the world's quality practices today (anyone else familiar with Genichi Taguchi?), so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. |

Think they worried about the series being 1 cour?
Certainly things would be less flexible. So far, I've just been happy Princess Principle exists as it's been hilarious so far. They'll grow the beard imo. the show will probably get darker and faster paced down the road. Let's just enjoy the ride for the moment.

So... the Princess now owns her own business, which is making a profit that she can call upon without needing either Crown funds or Commonwealth support and whose employees will be fanatically devoted to her should she ever need to call upon them.
I'm sorry, I don't quite follow the complaints of this being irrelevent to the larger plot, given how much she just advanced her cause without anyone noticing.

^ Somebody Noticed!
Though it's still probably in Controls hands more than anything considering Princess didn't have the funds herself as she explained. Although it did feel like she sold it off but I don't think she did. Marilla is the Foreman know lolz.

Princess didn't say she doesn't have funds. She just doesn't have a lot to waste. That's why she said there was no problem because she was planing in turning the laundry into a profitable business.
It's still her money though. It was confirmed by the staff on twitter. Spoiler for interview:

So we have a Japanese anime set in Victorian England, based on a setting from a book written by a Frenchman about a fictitious United States?
Very convoluted.

Episode 1 they kept themselves pretty well hidden, so much that the Duke of Normandy used Eric to fake defect to get them out of hiding. Chise and Dorothy might have gotten their faces exposed to the guy and girl in the room but odds are those people got silenced. Nothing happened in Episode 2. Episode 3 All witnesses are dead. Dorothy is unanimous as she came with Princess so she's chalked up to being a friend. Episode 4 Again those parties are under Commonwealth control probably therefore not able to talk. Episode 5 doesn't matter. Episode 6 Nothing really happened either. But the Lady who killed Danny got a hint about his Daughter but no face. Loan Shark doesn't matter either.

If this simply billed itself as vignettes about spy activity like Joker Game which didn't bother with any pretense of a plot I wouldn't mind. But it didn't and rather than the Princess and Ange doing any actually subversive actions towards their goals, they have mostly just been playing hatchetwomen straightforwardly while having a ball of time. Well until an convenient plot point allows them to achieve the Princess' ambitions instead of her intentional setting it up herself and having the viewers see it. I hope this changes in the next episode personally and things start moving again. Quote:

The scene in particular with Beatrice tuning up the old machinery surprised me at first, but then I remembered her horrible father being ... err ... quite the machinist. Maybe she picked up some knowledge or it runs in her veins or something similar?

Yes the adorable little shit is a mech geek probably.
It's to be expected tbh. I was actually thinking how all the girls would be like when they got older and Beatrice would be the fiery red head who has a mechanical arm whose trigger happy too lolz. I could add more but lolz it's more of a headcanon/fiction.
