It means SHAFT would have a bit of money to play around with, which i'm all for seeing.

At first I refused to believe that Kizu would be a movie after Shaft announced project after project while Kizu remained silent I kinda accepted the fact that it wouldn't be a regular season. Also considering the length of the novel a movie finally seems rationale. The sad part is that we'll have to wait like a year after the movie actually airs before the Blu-ray comes out and we in the west can actually watch it. Assuming it is a movie it's not going to air until at least....end of 2011, probably to match the date of Koi. Meaning we won't be able to watch until late 2012. It's impossible to make Nise until that's done so assuming the whole series gets turned into an anime we'll have to wait until 2020 to see everything and that's assuming Nisio doesn't create a season 3 for the novels.

It's basically about the SoreMachi 'afterparty' (the blogger, Umetsu-san Yasuori, was responsible for storyboarding the OP, amongst other things). One line about Kizu: "whilst hearing/talking a little about the movie continuation of Bakemonogatari, we (Umetsu and Bake series director Oishi Tatsuya) started chatting about the movies we liked and so on."

edit: I thought I'd read it somewhere previously. sirn already posted about it on the previous page.

Oh man, i got all excited in the Bakemonogatari thread for nothing They could've just been talking about the possibilities of a movie. Still not enough for a confirmation imo.

To be honest, a movie seems about right. Having not read the series myself yet, I can't quite imagine the pace, but the Kizu novel is less than half the length of Bakemonogatari. If they do roughly what they did with Bake, it'd be 6.5~7 episodes long which would amount to a 2-2.5 hour movie. They generally don't make anime movies that long though...but well, it'll depend on how much they cut out....

Damn, I never know that Kizu thread was created here!

Why don't just create the the thread in Bakemonogatari sub-forum?

Oh well.

Funny thing, I had a really good dream about Kizu last night.

So the dream and this 'news' are both lies. :<

After seeing that, I am not so againist movie sequel[or well prequel really in this case], so if people think the material fits in that kind of time slot then I hope that shaft puts the effort into it, though the wait will suck again D:.

Yes... let's hope this is the same length, if it is indeed a movie.

Movies are great! Bigger budgets, no weekly deadlines to meet, no time wasted on repetative OP and ED's, no need for cliffhangers or other such gimmicks to draw viewers back next week, thus you get a more focused and continualised story.

Fingers crossed all people!! ><

Movies are the trends of the future.

There is difference between rumour and someone who's 'involved' slipping their words. Those are mostly true.

The blog said, 'hearing about Bakemonogatari's upcoming sequel movie'. When it is already several months after the announcement (with godly aniplex+iwakami backpack) it is ridiculous that they are 'still' planning what kind of medium they will choose for Kizumonogatari. Unless this staff had some kind of mistaken understandings, Kizumono movie-fication is most likely true with this source.

Just saying nothing about a Kizu film has been confirmed nor announced yet, that's all.

But to be fair, i did misread and misinterpret said line at the time of my original post. After going through it again, Umetsu Yasuomi may've very well just leaked news of a Kizu movie. Wooots!

Seems like Aya is being questioned about whether she can fit Kissshot's shoes. Personally I can't really imagine her as the character, but if she does get the boot who will replace her? One thing to keep in mind is that the actress needs to have extreme range since Kissshot travels between like 6 different ages during the series.
