Definitely. And they will end with volume 6...

And also, I feel that Yuuji and Shouko's backstory is a must watch. (You can't talk about Shouko in this case without talking about Yuuji.)

My question is just how much they poured into making the animation perfect for this episode. The natural flow of sakura and Minami's movements..... Jeez, they've certainly went all out here!

Yuuji, Hideyoshi, Voyeur, Yoshii... all in the same class, but I feel sorry for her... No wonder she likes Akihisa so much.
This was an awesome episode ^^ really interesting & totally different than usual.

Oh well, as Shounen as Baka Test goes, Tsunderes almost always win against Shrinking Violets. But I'm willing to see Baka Test through the end after watching the last episode.

But this is Tsundere vs Yandere. That means it's not over yet.

Also, did we see Himeji's back story? I don't really recall it. Just her interaction with other character backstories. Himeji's backstory has to go back to elementary school, doesn't it?

but I dunno if the novels did dig that deep. Hazuki, Minami and the curiousities of the childhoods of Yuuji and Shouko are probably in the #.5's.

also, it may be something, but why do I keep getting the vibes of Shouko's parents in the past before she went in their lives as:

Mrs. Kirishima - graceful, elegant, is seen with a kimono, Yamato Nadeshiko
Mr. Kirishima - stern, has the GAR that could catch the attention of some beauties

reason for marriage is... well... take a freakin' look at Yuuji being 'engaged' to Shouko.... but the taser replaced with a shiny tanto being pressed on his neck as a threat...

so can anyone spare some quarters? this poor soul doesnt need to reach game over just yet.... NOT JUST YET... because... where's the fun out of that if we can't see him suffer at the hands of the FFF inquisition?

Not the funniest episode, as I expected from the show, but probably the best from this series. Touching episodes usually do it for me when done right, like this one was.

I thought they have introduced Hazuki in the anime already.

And also, yeah, Himeji's backstory isn't up yet. So it would be interesting to see how a Yandere becomes one.

So I think they will feature Himeji's backstory FIRST before Yuuji and Shouko.

But nice arguments there, people. I mean, I'm just saying, Shounen genre is always about Tsundere vs. Yandere, and that the Tsundere usually wins (Love Hina, people?), but THERE ARE cases where the Yandere (disguised as a Shrinking Violet as Himeji is) DO win the MC's heart.

Thanks for thinking of me, and here's the post - but I'm not sure you'll like it.

In short - in a vacuum, it was a very good episode. Classic Oonuma Shin if "Ef" mode, which I like a lot. But here are my concerns...

1. After being completely sadistic and mean-spirited for 7 episodes, it's a little hard to just accept such a dramatic turnaround here.
2. If indeed Aki was so important to Minami when she was really in trouble - if he was her only friend when she was miserable after moving back to Japan - doesn't that make her look like even more of a miserable jerk for treating Aki like shit and abusing him for the last year?
3. What are we supposed to think if things return to normal next week, and we're right back to the sadistic unpleasantness that characterized the first 7 eps of the season?

Again - very good episode. If it had been the season premiere, I would have viewed it very differently. But I don't think a series can just hit the reset button this far in and have no consequences. In short, it makes the rest of the season in general and Minami in specific look even worse.

Enzo, when you mentioned B-T, my first impression was Baka-Tsuki...

Anyway, that would be the last of the sadistic (sans Miharu) episodes, guaranteed, it's more of the arrangements of the episodes since they were done in an anarhonic manner. Minami will show in the next 2+ episodes why she's a tsundere, and Miharu will play a rather huge role now.
